Guide for Prospective Students

Eligibility for Admission

You will be regarded as an international applicant if you do not hold an Indonesian nationality status. If your nationality is Indonesian, please click here.

To be able to get admission, candidates must demonstrate good academic competence which is proven with high academic merit. International applicants make applications directly to Universitas Indonesia by submitting a set of application documents. International applicants are not required to sit for the entry test for admission. Yet, the university conducts application documents assessment based on which the eligibility for admission is decided.

International applicants must meet the academic, language requirements and commit to comply with particular regulations of Indonesian government related to education policy in order to apply for a degree at Universitas Indonesia.

Application Fee

For year 2010, application fee for international candidates costs US$30 (excluding transfer fee) and is non-refundable. The application fee is payable by money transfer to the following account:

Note: The application is processed upon receipt of application fee payment.

Applicants send the completed 2 (two) copies of 'application package' and all required documents via registered mail or email, together with the receipt of application fee payment to:

Documents of application submitted to the International Office will belong to Universitas Indonesia and will not be returned to the applicant(s). Applicants are not allowed to change the applied course while the selection is on progress or after the selection outcome is announced. Thus, unsuccessful applicants are advised to apply for the next admission term.

Application Due Dates

The admission for undergraduate degree is open once a year for Semester 1 academic commencement. Postgraduate degree admission is open twice a year for Semester 1 and Semester 2 academic commencement. Please see the important dates for more information about the current admission openings.

Administration Registration and Date(s)

Administration registration is a must and done as you are accepted as a student of Universitas Indonesia and your admission is issued in an accession to the list of student acceptance of international applicants (Letter of Acceptance).The date(s) of Administration Registration will be stated in the Letter of Acceptance addressed to you.

Academic Registration Date(s)

Academic registration is necessary for choosing your subjects and is done under the supervision of an academic supervisor. The Academic Registration is done online on student website.
