“Improving public health status is hardly possible without a civil society movement” He has a keen interest in Health Promotion (specifically in HealthCommunication, Health Advocacy, and Reproductive Health focusing on Maternal, Neonatal and Adolescents Health,empowering community by network strengthening with civilsociety. Apart from this, he also has a lot of experience in facilitating or leading a multidisciplinary team (public health, health, social scientist) in evaluation, research, consultation and project review in Indonesia. He ever became an international consultant in different countries such as India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan, USA). In the past he has worked and served as consultant to different donors and UN Technical agencies i.e. UNFPA, UNICEF, WHO, USAID, AusAID, World Bank, ADB, GTZ as well as national and international Nongovernment
organizations.
He used to be called Had, Hadi or Hadiprat by his friends and colleagues. He was born in Boyolali, March 6 and completed his Medical degree in the School of Medicine, the University of Indonesia (1975). Then he pursued his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in 1980 and doctoral degree (Doctor of Public Health) in 1982 with his dissertation : Communication Aspects and Their Implication on the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Strategy of the Family Planning Program in Indonesia: A Further Analysis of the Indonesian Fertility Survey (Tulane
University, School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, New Orleans, USA). In the past, he received several awards such as Satyalancana Karya Satya 30 Tahun (30 Years Civil Service Award, 2007), Penghargaan Pengembangan Organisasi Perkumpulan Perinatologi Indonesia/ Perinasia (Perinasia Organizational Development
Award, 2006), Best Senior Researcher in Public Health and Medicine at the same time he was awarded as Best Senior Researcher at the University of Indonesia (2001). In addition, he also obtained Student Service Awards Tulane University, USA (1982) and Best Writing Competition by Dean of FKM UI ( 1977). He joined the Faculty of Public Health at UI (FKM UI) in 1976 and became Chief, Research and Development Division of the Faculties of Public Health Development Project in Indonesia (Minister of Education and USAID) in 1985-1987. Then he was promoted as Chairman of the Department of Health Education & Behavioral Sciences (1992-1995), Chief of the Laboratory of Educational Technology and Health

In 1998, he was promoted as Professor in Public Health and currently he serves as Chief of the Ethics Committee (Comission B) of the Board of Professor of the University of Indonesia (2006-2011).
