Universitas Indonesia, November 1st 2023 – The Directorate of Student Affairs at the University of Indonesia (UI) is holding a major event aimed at helping students find information about scholarships that can support their studies at UI. The event, called “The 1st Scholarship Day,” invited 43 UI scholarship partners to participate in scholarship exhibitions, on-the-spot scholarship offers, inspirational talk shows about scholarships, and various other entertainment activities.

The event was held at the Central Library of the Universitas Indonesia on Wednesday, November 1st 2023, from 09.00 to 16.00 WIB. This event was held for the first time at the Universitas Indonesia and is planned to continue as an annual agenda.

Since this morning, this event has been enlivened by enthusiastic UI students who are interested in finding and applying for scholarships, as well as listening to inspirational talk shows about how to get scholarships. Officially, this event was opened with the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and remarks from the UI Director of Student Affairs, Badrul Munir, Ph.D., and the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Abdul Haris.

“This event is designed to help UI students in pursuing scholarships to support their studies at UI. Here, we present 53 partners and more. We want information about scholarships to be more easily accessible, and we hope to increase students’ enthusiasm in seeking scholarships, both during their undergraduate studies and to continue to the master’s level,” said Badrul Munir.

This event is divided into two sessions, namely the morning session and the afternoon session. In the morning session, apart from the scholarship exhibition booth to obtain scholarship information, there was also a booth for KIP-K scholarship recipients to activate their accounts through BSI Bank. On the other hand, students can also listen to tips and tricks on how to get scholarships delivered by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Student Welfare at UI, Achmad Solechan, S.Si., M.Si.

“Today is the day to pursue scholarships and prove that 45,000 UI students have the ability to manage their finances and their future better through scholarship preparation. This also reflects UI’s attention to students, and we have many scholarship partners who can help students according to their needs,” said Achmad.

Achmad also encouraged UI students to disseminate information about scholarships and maintain their commitment to collecting files. “For those who have received KIP-K, share this information with friends who need it, and for those who want to register, don’t be lazy about doing the paperwork.”

“I was really helped by this event as a KIP-K recipient. There was a booth for activation, there was an informative talk show session about how to manage finances for students, as well as various other information about scholarships. I think the event is very useful,” said Riski Aulia, a 2023 UI Faculty of Nursing (FIK) student.

The existence of this on-the-spot scholarship can also prioritize students who come directly and register for this session, thus this event is also integrated with the scholarship.ui.ac.id website.

The afternoon session was no less interesting, with a stand up comedy performance by Devan Demotivator and an inspirational talk show from the LPDP Team and the LPDP Village Head (Student) for students who wanted to continue their Masters studies, both at home and abroad.

“Prepare yourself for your future Masters with a scholarship from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP). The amount of the LPDP scholarship is higher compared to many scholarships from abroad. This is our way of showing our pride in Indonesia and the progress of our country, and students can plan their future comfortably because apart from UKT (single tuition) and living costs, LPDP can also cover for family members,” said Muhammad Anshori, Senior Legal Officer LPDP. “The 1st Scholarship Day” event at UI is a valuable platform for students to pursue their dreams with scholarship support, as well as strengthening awareness about the importance of affordable and equitable higher education. With various scholarship partners and available information, UI students now have more opportunities to achieve a bright future in the world of education.
