Crystal of Knowledge

Books and literatures are blood of science. Science, without books and literature, will never improve just like what we see right now. As an education institution, UI deeply realizes how important library is. For UI, library is the heart of university. Library is an organ which contributes the deepest meaning for the improvement of science. This organ enriches the thoughts of the researchers, students, and lectures.

Starting from that point of view, UI makes a spectacular improvement. UI plans to build a new main university library. The spirit and the philosophy which underlie the building of the new library centre is Crystal of Knowledge. Crystal of Knowledge is a predicate that is suitable with the heart of the soul that is included in the function of the glorious building.
At the first step, the building of the library centre will include the total area 19.279 square meters, which consist of seven floors including basement. If there is no obstruction, it will be continued to the second step. In the second step, the building will include the total area of 24.275 square meters in which all two mezzanines will be built in between the second and third floor, and the area between third and fourth floor.

The grand idea of the architect of the building is very well oriented with the environment and is also suitable with the UI's jargon for the last one year, Green Campus. The shape of the building will be oriented with the utilization of green area as a solid cantilever around the building, as you can see from the picture enclosed. Besides, water cooled chiller is used for a cooling system. Water cooled chiller is a cooler system which is environment friendly because it is free from the anti ozone substance.
