Overview

The Central Library of Universitas Indonesia is an integrated system that provides a comprehensive access to UI's library holdings across the boundaries of individual faculties and disciplines. The Central Library is an important department of the University's central administration through which the libraries collaborate in the areas of digital acquisitions and collections, information technology, high-density storage, and preservation.

To facilitate coordination and communication, the Central Library of Universitas Indonesia is the fusion of all faculty's library. It provides integrated services for all students of Universitas Indonesia. In 2007, the number of book collections in Central Library had reached 1,500,000 books. Central Library's collection is a comprehensive collected work by considering uncountable hard and electronic research archives and documentations. It is one of the biggest university libraries in Asia.

The Central Library also offers access to extensive electronic resources including e-journals, databases, statistical data, images and digital maps. Supported by the information technology based on digital library online, the visitor can search and download the available collection directly, such as: Book Collection, Magazine Collection, Non-Book Collection, e-Article Collection, e-Book Collection, and also the paper journal conference produced by UI academic community.
