Physics

The Department of Physics is committed to providing high quality education and research in Physics and Applied Physics through the following four study specializations:

  • Pure and Applied Physics : to produce researchers who are excellent in designing and executing research in Physics, and educators who are adept in teaching physics at the bachelor level.
  • Medical Physics: to produce medical physicists to fill in the demand of hospitals, particularly in areas such as radiotherapy, radio diagnostic and nuclear medicine.
  • Instrumentation Physics: to produce experts in the field of instrumentation who are both capable of performing quality and quantity control of the instrumentation and contributing to the diversifying effort related to instrumentation.
  • Reservoir Geophysics: to produce geophysics experts with the proficiency to perform solid quantitative analyses backed by geological and reservoir technology knowledge and to design and conduct research and develop the methodologies used in the field of reservoir geophysics.

Admissions The entrance to the Master’s Programme in Physics is through the SIMAK written entrance exam.
