Bachelor of Computer Science (Regular)

The Undergraduate Computer Science Study Program under the auspices of the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Indonesia (Fasilkom UI), consists of Regular and Parallel programs. This program provides an opportunity for the best high school/equivalent graduates to gain education and expertise in Computer Science at the undergraduate level. In addition, this program meets the need for skilled and professional personnel in Information Technology, notably Computer Science. With more than 30 years of experience, Fasilkom UI’s Bachelor of Computer Science Study Program has been recognized for its ability and quality to provide education at the undergraduate level in the field of Computer Science. The Undergraduate Study Program in Computer Science offers a balance between a solid scientific foundation in Computer Science and professional skills in Information Technology. The foundations of Computer Science provided include discrete mathematics, programming, data structures & algorithms, computer architecture, databases, operating systems, computer networks, computational theory, software engineering, and intelligent systems.

The computer science study program is designed to produce graduates who master computer science, have global perspectives and insights, and are tolerant and responsive to societal problems.

Tuition Fee

Regular S1 tuition fees are paid according to the ability of the cost bearer, BOP-B (Equitable Education Operational Costs).

BOP-B is in the range of IDR 100,000 – IDR 7,500,000. As of 2013, regular bachelor’s degrees are no longer subject to entry fees. Instead, the government subsidizes entry fees through State University Operational Assistance (BOPTN).

UI uses Single Tuition Fees or UKT as a payment system where students pay a unit tuition fee determined by the study program, and there is no charge per credit.

Based on the 2022 UI Education Fee Decree

For regular, the cost of education for Parallel undergraduates is fixed. The amount of the BOP is IDR 12,500,000 per semester and IDR 40,000,000 for entry fees.

The cost of education for the Parallel Undergraduate Program is fixed for foreigners. The amount of the BOP is IDR 15,000,000 per semester and IDR 40,000,000 for entry fees.

Bachelor of Information Systems

The Information Systems Study Program under the auspices of the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia (FCS UI) provides opportunities for the best high school/equivalent graduates to gain education and expertise in the field of Information Systems/Information Technology at the undergraduate level. This program is designed to meet the need for skilled and professional young workers, especially those related to the development, utilization, and management of Information Systems/Information Technology within an organization.

With its experience in the field of Information Systems/Information Technology, the Information Systems Study Program of FCS UI has been recognized for its ability and quality in providing undergraduate level education in the field of Information Systems/Information Technology. Graduates are accepted in business and industry as high-quality personnel in the field of Information Systems / Information Technology.

This study program is open to the regular undergraduate class and parallel undergraduate class, where the entry path for the regular undergraduate class is through the SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SIMAK-UI. As for parallel classes through SIMAK-UI and PPKB

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Rector Decree No. 406/SK/R/UI/2021

Regular undergraduate education fees are paid according to the ability of the cost bearer. The payment scheme is called the Equitable Education Operational Cost (E-EOC).

E-EOC is paid in the range of IDR 100,000 – 7,500,000. For regular undergraduates, as of 2013, there is no entry fee. This is because the entry fee is subsidized by the government through the Operational Assistance of State Universities.

UI uses the Single Tuition Fee payment system where students pay the unit fee for education that has been determined by the study program and is no longer charged per credit.

For non-foreign nationals, Parallel undergraduate education costs are fixed. The amount of the EOC is IDR 12,500,000 per semester and IDR 40,000,000 for the entry fee

For foreign nationals, the tuition fee for Extension Undergraduate is fixed. Tuition fees for Extension Undergraduate also use a Single Tuition Fee. The amount of the EOC is IDR 15,000,000 per semester and IDR 40,000,000 for the entry fee.

Bachelor of Computer Science (International)

Since 2002, the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia has collaborated with several partner universities to offer International Bachelor Programs in the field of computer science. This program prepares students to become graduates who are able to face challenges in the era of globalization, compete in regional and international job markets, and are able to continue to the higher level. The program is run by highly qualified and experienced lecturers in computer science and information technology from our faculties and partner universities, namely the University of Queensland, The Australian National University (ANU), Deakin University, University of Birmingham (UoB), and RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology).

Program Magister (S2)

Master of Computer Science

Inaugurated in 1988, the Computer Studies Master Programme (MIK) is designed to produce graduates with advanced knowledge of Computer Sciences, building on undergraduate Computer Science knowledge and skills. Morning and afternnon classes are held in UI’s Computer Science (Fasilkom) Campus in Depok. The Computer Science programme emphasises intergration of postgraduate studies and research. Students are expected to actively participate in research. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students obtain opportunities to accrue a wide range of knowledge and research experience in Computer Sciences. Choices of courses are construed so that students may arrange their own programmes according to intended specialisations.

Graduates of Computer Sciences Master Programme (MIK) possess the following attributes

  • Possessing high integrity of character in the sciences in general and in Computer Science in particular.
  • Mindful of the ethics of research and science.
  • Possessed of state-of-the-art knowledge of Computer Science.
  • Open and responsive to developments in Computer Science.
  • Capable of and motivated in observation and analysis of issues in Computer Science.
  • Capable of scientific reasoning and approaches in the solving of issues in Computer Studies.
  • Capable of inventions and breakthroughs in the development of Computer Science.

 

Tuition Fee

Based on UI Education Cost Reference Letter of 2022

An Operational Tuition Fee is payable per semester, amounting to Rp 16.000.000,00 for regular classes dan Rp 19.000.000,00 for special classes.

An Entrance Fee (UP) is payable only once on admission, amounting to Rp17.000.000,- for both regular and special classes.

Master of Information Technology (E-Government)

Master in Information Technology (MIT) e-Government Program is a Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program, which is carried out with the aim of realizing superior human resources for government officials in the development of e-Government within Central and Regional government agencies in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 3 of 2003 concerning the National Policy and Strategy for the Development of e-Government. The target of this program is to provide human resources for managing e-Government within the Central and Regional Government agencies. The Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia is collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology in organizing the Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program.

Length of Study

The MTI curriculum with the Kominfo Domestic Scholarship Program is designed for 3 semesters. Compulsory courses are held during the day (14:00-16:30), while elective courses are held at night (19:00-21:30) at MTI Faculty of Computer Science UI, UI Salemba Campus, Jakarta.

Civil Servant Participant Requirements

  • Civil servant in Central and Regional government agencies;
  • Not intended for civil servants in education sector agencies;
  • Maximum age of 37 years at the time of registration;
  • For civil servants in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost areas, the maximum age is 42 years at the time of registration. The list of 3T regions refers to the Letter of the Directorate of Special Regions and Disadvantaged Regions, Ministry of Planning, National Development/National Development Planning Agency no. 2421/Dt.7.2/04/2015 dated April 21, 2015;
  • Status of active civil servants and Indonesian National Armed Forces/Indonesian National Police who have a minimum working period of 2 years starting from becoming Candidates for Civil Servants;
  • Obtain permits and recommendations from the authorized officials (the head of an Echelon II level agency or higher) in the relevant agency to undergo education;
  • Do not have a master’s degree and are not currently participating in a master’s education program from another institution;
  • Minimum GPA requirement is 3.00;
  • Other requirements follow the requirements of each selected higher education institution.

In addition, the Kominfo Scholarship Program is open to the general public, especially the young workforce, to continue their master’s education.

General Participant Requirements

  • Indonesian Citizen;
  • Maximum age of applicants is 33 years at the time of registration;
  • Work background in the Information Technology sector or local startup;
  • Not intended for participants from education sector agencies;
  • Have a minimum of 2 (two) years of work experience in the field of Information Technology;
  • Obtain permission from an authorized leader to undergo education;
  • Include a letter of recommendation from a leader, lecturer, or other person who has credibility;
  • Do not have a master’s degree and are not currently participating in a master’s education program from another institution;
  • Minimum GPA requirement is 3.00;
  • Minimum GPA requirement is 3.00.

This scholarship program is implemented under a cost-sharing scheme, with the division of responsibilities as follows:

  1. The Human Resources Research and Development Agency will bear the cost of education in accordance with the Educational Development Contribution that has been determined by each university during the normal study period. The HR Research and Development Agency also provides operational cost assistance of Rp.1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand rupiah) per month to each scholarship recipient.
  2. The work unit will bear other costs that are allowed in accordance with applicable regulations during the study period.

Registration Procedure

  • Interested applicants register online at https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id/ registration for the Universitas Indonesia Entrance Selection (SIMAK). A complete registration guide is available on the UI admissions page.
  • After being declared to have passed the admissions selection at UI, prospective scholarship recipients will undergo further selection at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics by considering academic aspects as well as the suitability and completeness of the registration documents.
  • Applicants for the internal scholarship program of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, applications are submitted directly by civil servants who are prospective scholarship recipients.
  • Participants who are declared recipients of the Kominfo scholarship will receive a decree from the Head of the Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, then sign a Letter of Agreement on stamp duty.

Education Operational Cost Master of Computer Science is paid every semester in the amount of IDR 23,000,000.00.

Development Fund which is only paid at the beginning of entering college is Rp. 17,000,000.00.

Master of Information Technology

In the last decade the field of Information Technology (IT) has grown very rapidly. The role of IT is the lifeblood of modern organizations in conducting business operations and management. In particular, this trend has given rise to a need for human resources to build and manage IT. The Information Technology Masters Program (SK DIKTI No.2006/D/T/2005 dated June 24, 2005) under the auspices of the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Indonesia (FCS UI), is designed to fill the gap between the needs of industry and business for professionals, with expertise in IT.

The characteristics of the Master of Information Technology (MIT) Program include:

  • Emphasis on strong integration skills between IT applications and deep knowledge of organizational management and strategy.
  • The development of various characteristics of expertise in the IT field that requires more in-depth study related to various business and industrial sectors.

The competencies and abilities that are the targets of the MIT-FCS UI program are:

  1. The essence of knowledge and expertise in the IT field.
  2. IT integration in business/organizational functions and foundations as well as career support.
  3. Communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills in the scope of business/organization.

To support the research process, the MIT program is supported by laboratories with Information Technology-based studies, namely the E-Government & E-Business Lab and the Information Management Lab.

Length of Study

The MIT curriculum is designed for 4 semesters, but it is possible for students to complete it in 3 semesters. Lecture activities are carried out at the MIT-UI Salemba Campus. Lectures are held in the evening (evening class: 19.00 – 21.30). Afternoon classes are only opened if the number of participants is sufficient (usually only in odd semester admissions).

Academic Requirements

Prospective students must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor graduates with scientific backgrounds: Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics; or scientific fields other than those mentioned above with work experience in the field of Information Technology.
  • Minimum GPA value of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Participants with a non-IT educational background can apply by showing a minimum of two years of IT work experience. Proof of work experience in the form of work certificates, CVs and letters of recommendation from direct superiors into one pdf file with a scan of the legalization of the diploma, to be uploaded via the diploma document upload menu.
  • Pass the Screening Examination at the university level (SIMAK UI). SIMAK UI registration is done online at https://penerimaan.ui.ac.id.

The Master of Information Technology Education Operational Fee is paid every semester in the amount of Rp.20,000,000 for regular classes and Rp.23,000,000 for special classes.

The base fee that is only paid at the beginning of college is Rp.17,000,000 for regular classes and special classes.

Program Doktor (S3)

Doctor of Computer Science

Inaugurated in 1998, the Doctoral Programme of Computer Studies was designed to produce graduates possessing the capability of research in Computer Sciences. Courses are conducted at day in the Faculty of Computer Studies campus, Depok.

Computer Studies emphasises integration between postgraduate studies and research. Active participation is expected of students of Computer Studies UI. Its curriculum is designed in a way that students obtain opportunities to gain a wide array of knowledge and research skills in Computer Studies. Students are given the freedom to choose from an assortment of courses so that they may arrange their plan of study in accordance with their research plan.

Length of Study

The Doctoral Programme of Computer Studies is to be completed in at least 6 semesters and 10 semesters at the longest.
