The Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia, was established on November 27, 1964, at the same time as the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia. Even though lectures had started on October 17, 1964, at its inception, the Department of Electrical Engineering was given the name “Electricity Department,” which consisted of two fields of study, namely Electric Power and Electronics and Telecommunications. The undergraduate education of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering study program aims to produce a Bachelor of Engineering (ST) who can determine and engineer, manufacture processes, and control the properties of metallic and non-metallic materials. The applicable curriculum in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering refers to issues related to metallurgy, material design, and material forming processes, then specifically addressed to industrial needs. This emphasis is focused on basic science and engineering principles with the application of metallurgical principles and material behaviour.
In addition, graduates of the FTUI Metallurgy and Materials Engineering Study Program also have the ability to analyze material failure due to its use. In 2011, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering graduates nearly reached 2000 alumni from the undergraduate level. This program provides precise or theoretical foundational knowledge in architectural disciplines, especially in specific design knowledge, and a variety of elective courses that can enhance students’ proficiency in various areas of specialization. In addition, the final assessment of this program is writing a thesis for an undergraduate in architecture.
The Department of Architecture aims to produce graduates who have basic scientific knowledge and its application, with the ability to apply architectural design methods that are environmentally sound. Graduates of the FTUI Architecture Undergraduate Study program are architecture graduates with pre-professional qualifications so that they can directly apprentice in the world of practitioners or continue to the Professional Program (Architect), which the FTUI Architecture Department also holds. To obtain professional certification, graduates must intern and undergo a qualification process by the Indonesian Association of Architects (IAI). Graduates from the Department of Architecture can work in various construction industry fields, including architects, interior designers, and construction supervisors. Graduates can also work in multiple areas of work that use critical and creative thinking skills.

Chemical engineering graduates are expected to have quality in the conception and design of chemical processes for production, transformation, and material handling. In addition, they have broad scientific insights to develop natural resources, both fossil (petroleum, natural gas, coal) and non-fossil, into commodities that are high added value.
