The Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) is the oldest medical faculty and one of the best medical faculties in Indonesia. FKUI received an “A” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2014. FKUI is committed to ensuring the quality of medical education by providing competency-based international standard education to improve public health status. A strategic plan that is directed and systematically guides FKUI to increase human resource capacity, develop educational facilities and infrastructure, and enhance the education management system.

FKUI students come from various regions in Indonesia, even from other countries. The diversity of students gives more responsibility to FKUI to organize a medical education that equips graduates with comprehensive knowledge of medicine and health at an efficient cost so that all levels of society can reach it.

Program Pendidikan Dokter

Medical Degree

Program Description

The Faculty of Medicine is the oldest unit in the history of the University of Indonesia. Now, FKUI continues to develop through education adapted to the International Standard Program set by the World Federation of Medical Education. At FMUI, students must follow a module system that has been systematically determined. The FMUI curriculum consists of three stages. The first stage of general education is the first semester. The second stage is medical sciences in semesters 2-6, and the third stage is clinical practice in semesters 7-10. This educational stage is complemented by an internship period of one year.

The medical study program is only open to the Regular Undergraduate education program with a quota of 50% entry from the invitation route, namely SNMPTN, and 50% from the written examination path, namely SBMPTN and SIMAK-UI.

Mental Health Specialist Education Program

Program Description

The Education Study Program for Mental Health Specialist Doctors at the Department of Mental Health FKUI-RSCM is an educational program that aims to educate a doctor to become a mental health specialist (psychiatrist) with balanced academic and clinical abilities to be able to overcome various clinical psychiatric problems with prior knowledge psychiatry such as neuroscience, mental health, psychopathology, or symptomatology, in society. In addition, participants in the Mental Health Specialist Medical Education Program are also expected to be active in conducting research based on primary psychiatry, clinics, and communities.

Program Internasional

Undergraduate Medicine Program

Program Description

The International Special Class Program (KKI) is designed to produce doctors who can compete with graduates from other countries and have international standard competencies. KKI graduates are also targeted to be able to continue postgraduate education in global-scale medical education institutions.

Using an international-scale curriculum, students are encouraged to learn and develop clinical knowledge and skills through various academic sources.

The strategy implemented in the KKI Program involves international collaboration, namely the University of Melbourne, Monash University, and the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Therefore, the KKI program at FKUI has the added value of a double degree, namely a doctorate’s degree (University of Indonesia) and a Bachelor of Medical Science (University of Melbourne or Monash University) or a Master of Research (the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne).

The programs implemented at the university are in the form of coursework or research projects. As a result, students can learn more deeply about the ins and outs of research and apply it in research projects.

Academic activities in the KKI Program are in English, both in lectures, discussions, practicums, assignments, and exams. Using English aims to enable KKI graduates to study medicine in English, which has become an international language.

The KKI program is designed to develop professionalism and uses an international standard curriculum. Conditions in teaching and learning activities make students develop ways of learning.
