Graduate Employment
According to the Act of the Ministry of Health (Kepmenkes) No.1363 of 2001 :

“A physiotherapy is a form of healthcare aimed at individuals and/or groups to develop, maintain, and remedy body movement and function throughout their life process by employing manual handling, increase in mobility, equipment (physical, electrotherapeutic and mechanical), exercise in function, communication.”

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia defines physiotherapy as follows: a [form of] healthcare aimed at individuals and or groups to develop, maintain, and remedy movement and function throughout one’s life process by employing physical modality, physical agents, mechanics, training and communication.

The increase in candidates applying for a physiotherapy major has been linked to a growing demand for practitioners of physiotherapy. Jobs available to physiotherapists are not limited to the Civil Service in Medical Rehabilitation Units to be found in hospitals. Matias Ibo, the physiotherapist for the Indonesian National Football Team, is an example of a physiotherapist who has made it into the spotlight.

Physiotherapy, a branch of medicine, may be further subdivided into four sectors: Promotion, Prevention, Treatment (Curative), and Rehabilitation. The average physiotherapy student is more likely to work in Treatment and Rehabilitation. According to Sri Mardiman, Industrial Physiotherapy and Sports Physiotherapy are relatively less cultivated in comparison to other domains of physiotherapy, at least in Indonesia. Over the last five years, however, interest in Sports physiotherapy has grown; on the other hand, the author has only found one Industrial physiotherapy consultant in an oil company in East Kalimantan. A tracer study has shown that 100% of OT graduates are accepted into employment, 75% of FT and RS are absorbed in industry, and the remaining 30% continue to the graduate level. Therefore, the opportunity to become a civil servant in the Ministry of Health is wide open. Try to look at the position of civil servants in the Ministry of Health either in the regions or at the center for those whose educational background is “Physiotherapist,” “Occupational Therapist,” or “Medical/Hospital Recorder Expert.”

Graduate Competence
The curriculum is designed to equip students with the capability, competencies, and skills demanded in their work. The program places a particular emphasis on practice. 60% of the credits allotted are practical, while 40% are assigned to theory. Viewed from a timetable, this translates to 80% time spent in practice and 20% studying theory. A lot of time spent on training is meant to boost students’ practical skills. To increase their experience, students participate in an internship within renowned hospitals in Jakarta and surroundings, state-run or private, partnered with Vocational Programmes UI, at the end of the program.

Graduate Work Prospects
In general, graduates of Hospital Administration work in the administration of state-run and private hospitals. Some graduates, however, are absorbed into the workforce of other industries.

Industrial Partners
Hospital Management works with several industries involved in public health. For example, it has worked with the Union of Indonesian Hospitals (PERSI) to provide students with places for their internships. More specific instances of collaboration are those it has done with several hospitals in the Jabodetabek Metropolitan Area, including the Hermina Group, Medistra, Jakarta Eye Center, and Grha Permata Ibu. These take the form of Early Recruitment Programs (ERP), in which employee recruitment starts with the start of student internships.

Graduate Certification
In addition to the diploma, Hospital Administration graduates are accorded several certificates of competence issued by the National Board for Professional Certification (BNSP) and Lembaga Bahasa Internasional UI. They are also awarded a Certificate of Competence issued by the Indonesian National Labour Competence Standard (SKKNI) No. 183 of 2016 on Professional Administration.
