Programme Overview

In the Library and Information Study Programme, students are prepared to fulfill the demand for experts in all kinds of library and information services, archival institutions, record management institutions as well as documentation institutions. Some of the subjects are archive administration, bibliography, cataloguing, library management, digital library management, and information management technology applications. The graduates of this study programme are needed by the government as well as private institutions that need expertise in the field of library, records and archives, and information management.

Students can enter this programme through the Regular and the Parallel Undergraduate programmes. Admissions for the regular programme is through SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and SIMAK UI. As for the parallel programme, admission is through SIMAK- UI and PPKB.

Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for the Regular Undergraduate Programme is determined in accordance with the ability of the student to pay. This payment scheme, known as the Equitable Academic Operational Fee (Biaya Operasional Pendidikan Berkeadilan /BOP-B), ranges between IDR 100,000 – IDR 5,000,000. Since 2013, Regular Undergraduate students are no longer required to pay a development fee, as it is subsidized by the government through the State University Operational Support (Bantuan Operasional Perguruan Tinggi Negeri / BOPTN). UI uses a Single Tuition Fee (Uang Kuliah Tunggal/UKT) payment system in which students pay for all the educational units determined by the study programme and they no longer pay according to the number of credit units they take every semester.

Meanwhile, the cost for the Parallel Undergraduate Programme is fixed and is also paid using the UKT method. The tuition fee is IDR 6,500,000.00 each semester plus a development fee of IDR 11,000,000.00 which is paid only once.
