BPMA UI held a meeting (RDP) to discuss the draft quality standards on Monday (19/02/2024). University directors and work unit leaders attended the meeting. This was the second meeting held by BPMA UI, while the first RDP was conducted with directors and work unit representatives in November 2023.

The process of updating UI quality standards began in 2021 to adjust the UI Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) guidance documents. With Regulation of the Minister Education, Culture, Research & Technology Number 53 of 2023 issuance concerning Quality Assurance in Higher Education, the draft UI quality standards must be readapted. Several activities have been carried out regarding the preparation of draft quality standards, such as holding a Quality Standards Workshop in November 2023.

Formed in 2023, the UI Quality Standards Update Team has prepared 30 draft standards starting in June. The standards that the team has prepared include the tri dharma of higher education: education, research, and community service.

In opening the RDP, the Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Abdul Haris said the RDP draft quality standards needed to be carried out as a discussion forum for university leaders, work units, and teams updating quality standards.

“In Minister of Education and Culture, Research and Technology Regulation Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance in Higher Education, there is an SPMI tool that universities must create. One of SPMI’s tools is quality standards,” said Prof. Abdul Haris.

“BPMA, with the Reviewer Team for Updating UI Quality Standards, have created a Draft Quality Standard that is in accordance with Minister of Education and Culture, Research and Technology Regulation Number 53 of 2023. There must be discussions with related work units to provide input to align with existing UI policies,” he continued.

Head of BPMA UI, Prof. Sri Hartati Dewi Reksodiputro, Ph.D., hopes the implementation of the RDP with the Vice Chancellor, University Secretary, and related work units can assist in the process of preparing draft quality standards.

The RDP was carried out by the quality standards updating team with the Vice Chancellor, University Secretary, and Heads of Work Units according to their respective field groups. The results of this RDP can sharpen the draft UI quality standards, obtain input from external parties, and open discussion with the University Academic Senate.
