The Department of Pediatrics of FM UI received an award from the Indonesian Museum of World Records (MURI) for the record of “Webinar with the Most Professors from the Same Department and Faculty”. The award was handed over by MURI representatives on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 13.00 WIB, at the Universitas Indonesia Faculty of Medicine Hall, Salemba, Jakarta.

The Dean of FM UI , Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH, MMB said that this award was an honor, “Because the Department of Child Health Sciences with the number of professors continues to increase, Alhamdulillah, more achievements, pride, and dedication to the community.” He continued, “Alhamdulillah, with this large number (of professors), within one month the Department of Pediatrics FM UI can produce a webinar with thousands of participants so that it can get a MURI record award for Webinar with the Most Professors from the Same Department and Faculty.”

There were a total of 24 topics divided into five webinar sessions in the activity entitled All Professor Talk. A total of 25 professors were involved to fill 30 resource person and moderator positions. A series of webinar activities were held in August 2021 to commemorate National Children’s Day and welcome the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

This activity was organized by the Department of Pediatrics FM UI with the aim of disseminating information on pediatrics in a maximum and integrated manner in accordance with advances in health science and technology. Also as a means of creating a child health referral center (centre of excellent), provide complete information on children’s health sciences, improve skills in managing children’s cases, improve the quality of children’s services both to pediatricians, other specialists, general practitioners, and other medical personnel, as well as to increase the knowledge of parents or the public about children’s health.

Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics FM UI , Prof. Dr. dr. Aryono Hendarto, SpA(K), MPH said, “The large number of professors in the Department of Pediatrics FM UI is certainly a blessing and should not be wasted. For this reason, we in the department thought, what can we contribute to FM UI and the community. Of course, individually these professors according to their expertise have contributed actively both to FM UI , Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, and other stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health. But as a unit we feel the need to facilitate these professors in the form of activities like this.”

Meanwhile, the Head of Continuing Medical Education Department of Child Health Sciences Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia-Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Prof. Dr. dr. Sudung O. Pardede, SpA(K), said, “This activity is held as a series of continuing medical education activities at the Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia-Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital. The goal is to share knowledge with doctors, specialists, and the general public. In total, almost 8000 participants during the 5 series that we did. Thank you to the professors who have supported this event.”

The award obtained adds to the collection of MURI records for FM UI over a period of four years (from December 2017 to the present). Previously, FM UI received an award as the Faculty with the Most Professors in 2020, a record for the First Tumpeng Competition from a Series of Medical Devices (February 2021), and a record as the Faculty that Contributed the Most Speaker in One Radio Program (September 2021).

MURI was founded on January 27, 1990 by the Jamu Jago group of companies on the initiative of Jaya Suprana, culturalist and businessman, with the hope that MURI’s existence can inspire the nation’s children to create world records.
