In order to implement the Independent Learning Program on the Independent Campus curriculum launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FIA UI) together with the Faculty of Administrative Sciences Universitas Brawijaya (FIA UB), Malang, East Java, signed an agreement cooperation during the National Meeting and Working Meeting of the Indonesian Deans of Social Sciences (Fordekkis) Forum on Saturday (2/7). One of the collaborations that have been established is in organizing student activities for the Merdeka Learning Program at the Merdeka Campus (Independent learning Program). In this program, students will be included in the implementation of elective courses which are carried out both offline and online during the pandemic which has been agreed upon by both parties.

The cooperation agreement was signed by the Dean of FIA UI, Prof. Dr. Chandra Wijaya, M.Sc., MM., and the Dean of FIA UB, Drs. Anda Fefta Wijaya, MDA, Ph.D. Later this program will involve the FIA ​​UB Business Administration Study Program with the FIA ​​UI Commercial Administration Study Program, the FIA ​​UB Taxation Study Program with the FIA ​​UI Fiscal Administration Study Program, and the FIA ​​UB Public Administration Study Program with the FIA ​​UI State Administration Study Program.

Prof. Chandra explained several goals of this collaboration, including increasing the competence of graduates, both soft skills and hard skills, so that they are more prepared and relevant to the needs of the times. Not only that, Prof. Chandra also said that this collaboration is an experiential learning program that can facilitate students to develop their potential according to their passionsand talents.

“There are also several other goals such as encouraging students to master various sciences and skills through experiental learning that is useful for entering the world of work and character development; provide opportunities for students to determine courses outside the study program in a directed manner; and no less important, building student friendships between regions, ethnicities, cultures, and religions so as to increase the spirit of national unity and integrity,” said Prof. Chandra.

Also present at the meeting was FIA UI, Deputy Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. Fibria Indriati Dwi Liestiawati, S.Sos., M.Si; Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration Dr. Milla Sepliana Setyowati, S.Sos., M.Ak; and the Chief Secretary, Dr. Umanto, M.Si. Meanwhile, from the FIA ​​UB who were also present at the signing of this cooperation agreement, namely, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Arik, Prasetya, S.Sos., M.Sc., Ph.D; Deputy Dean for General Affairs, Finance and Resources, Dr. Muhammad Faisal Riza, S.Sos., M.Si; and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Mochamad Rozikin, M.AP.
