About Jakarta
With its special role as the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta is a sprawling metropolitan city, center of business and center of reign administration. Jakarta is a strategic location of many multi-national company branches, international brands stores, luxurious housing and starred hotels, culinary attractions and cultural organizations. That is why Jakarta offers more culture, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing options than any other places in Indonesia.
Being the main gateway to Indonesia, Jakarta has grown into a major industrial, business and trading centre and spreads over an area of more than 650 sq.km (410 sq miles). It is also designated as a special territory (DKI), means that it is administered by a governor and enjoys the same status as a province. The population of over nine million is of diverse ethnic and cultural groups from different parts of Indonesia, including Chinese, Arab and Indian descents in some commercial areas.
Jakarta has been the home for the Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Indonesia since its first establishment in 1850. Now, many other graduate programs are also located within the campus complex.

About Depok
Depok is located in the bordering area between Jakarta and West Java Province. As an impact of fast growing development of Jakarta, modern landmarks were also established. It is now becoming the key areas that have created a mutual relation with Jakarta in the sense of economics, political, and socio-cultural aspects.
Considering the strategic location for education, the government of Indonesia built the main campuses of Universitas Indonesia.
Depok campus is a green campus covering 320 hectares. UI maintains the ecology conservation by utilizing only 25 percent of area for academic, research and student activities while up holding 75 percent for forestation.
