Communication Studies

The Master’s Programme in Communication Studies was established in 1982. At the time, it was still part of a specialization in the Master’s Programme in Social Studies. In 1994, the programme underwent a development, which in turn led to the establishment of The Master’s Programme in Communication Management that is more focused on the management aspects of the media and information industry.

The courses are held at the Salemba Campus, Gedung IASTH, 6th Floor (behind the previous Rectorate building)

Students are required to take several courses and write a thesis, amounting to 45 academic credits in total.

The Master’s Programme in Communication Studies has two specializations as follow:

  1. Communication Studies or the regular class (focusing on media and communication studies)
  2. Communication Management (focusing on media management, communication management, promotion and marketing, corporate communication, and political communication).

The Regular Class is held in the morning, while the Communication Management class is held in the evening.

Admissions
The entrance to the Master’s Programme in Communication Studies is through the SIMAK written entrance exam. 

Tuition Fees
To join the Master’s Programme in Communication Studies, students are required to pay a tuition fee (BOP) per semester amounting to Rp 11,000,000 for the regular class and Rp 13,500,000 for the special class. In addition, students must pay a one-time Development Fee (DP) of Rp 5,000,000 for the regular class and Rp 10,000,000 for the special class the time of enrollment.
