Library and Information Science

Graduates of the Master’s Programme in Library and Information Science are expected to have the following competences:

  • Proficiency in developing the knowledge and understanding of the role information plays in society related to activities such as research, development, planning, decision making, problem solving, empowerment and learning processes;
  • Expertise in managing and utilising sources of information extracted from the society, in the forms of textual or documentary information, audio visual, machine generated and human expertise;
  • Skills in utilizing various methodologies for analyzing the organisation and presentation of information in the context of providing services regarding information to various groups of users;
  • Skills in technical aspects of modern management, for instance system planning, designing, and development of information services, that can be applied accurately in a timely manner to various information institutions such as the public and government;
  • Expertise for collecting, preserving, constructing, and distributing recorded information, and for utilising any existing or upcoming technology and applying all that to products and services.

Admissions
The entrance to the Master’s Programme in Library and Information Science is through the SIMAK written entrance exam.

Tuition Fees
The tuition fee for the Master’s Programme in Library and Information Science is Rp 8,000,000 per semester in addition to a one-time Development Fee of Rp 8,000,000 paid at enrolment.
