Chemical Engineering
Course Description
The main mission of the Department of Chemical Engineering is to provide education with best quality so the graduates gain knowledge, skills, and experiences in conductiong various research with the latest topics in chemical and biochemical engineering areas. The graduates is hope to be able to apply the knowledge of basic chemical and bioprocess engineering to work and make inovation in the area of chemical process technology, and capable in developing theirselves as designer, and industrial managers, and also able to developing science and technology.
Graduates of chemical engineering and bioprocess technology study programs can be described as “Universal Engineers” because they study engineering fundamentals such as thermodynamics, reaction kinetics and reactor design, separation processes, and transfer events (momentum, energy and mass). Graduates of the department of chemical engineering UI have contributed in the following fields: energy (oil and gas industry), engineering contractors (design, procurement, construction and trial operation), chemical industry (petrochemicals, bulk and specialty chemicals), research and development of chemical processes and products, processing and synthesis of food and pharmaceutical products.
Tuition Fee
Based on the UI Rector Decree No. 406/SK?R/UI/2021
For undergraduate regular program, the fee is paid according to the financial ability of the bearer, BOP-B (Education Operational Cost)
BOP-B (Education Operational Cost) is paid around Rp 100.000 – Rp 7.500.000. For regular undergraduates, as of 2013, there is no entry fee. This is because the entry fee is subsidized by the government through the Operational Assistance of State Universities.
UI uses the Single Tuition Fee payment system where students pay the unit fee for education that has been determined by the study program and is no longer charged per credit.

For non-foreign nationals, Parallel undergraduate education costs are fixed. Tuition fees for Parallel Undergraduate also use a Single Tuition Fee. Education Operational Cost is paid around Rp 10.000.000,- persemester and Rp 50.000.000,- for the Development Fund.
For foreign nationals, Parallel undergraduate program education costs are fixed. Tuition fees for Parallel Undergraduate also use a Single Tuition Fee. Education Operational Cost is paid around Rp 30.000.000,- persemester and Rp 50.000.000,- for the Development Fund.
