Computer Sciences Master Programme
Course Description
Inaugurated in 1988, the Computer Studies Master Programme (MIK) is designed to produce graduates with advanced knowledge of Computer Sciences, building on undergraduate Computer Science knowledge and skills. Morning and afternnon classes are held in UI’s Computer Science (Fasilkom) Campus in Depok. The Computer Science programme emphasises intergration of postgraduate studies and research. Students are expected to actively participate in research. The curriculum is designed in such a way that students obtain opportunities to accrue a wide range of knowledge and research experience in Computer Sciences. Choices of courses are construed so that students may arrange their own programmes according to intended specialisations.
Graduates of Computer Sciences Master Programme (MIK) possess the following attributes:
- Possessing high integrity of character in the sciences in general and in Computer Science in particular.
- Mindful of the ethics of research and science.
- Possessed of state-of-the-art knowledge of Computer Science.
- Open and responsive to developments in Computer Science.
- Capable of and motivated in observation and analysis of issues in Computer Science.
- Capable of scientific reasoning and approaches in the solving of issues in Computer Studies.
- Capable of inventions and breakthroughs in the development of Computer Science.
Tuition Fee
Based on UI Education Cost Reference Letter of 2022
An Operational Tuition Fee is payable per semester, amounting to Rp 16.000.000,00 for regular classes dan Rp 19.000.000,00 for special classes.
An Entrance Fee (UP) is payable only once on admission, amounting to Rp17.000.000,- for both regular and special classes.

Curriculum
The curriculum of the Computer Studies Master Programme is designed and arranged so that students obtain opportunities to acquire wide-ranging knowledge and research experience in fields of Information and Communication Technology, including Computer Science, Information System, Software Engineering, etc. Following is a study plan recommended for students taking the 2020 curriculum, to be completed in four semesters.
The formulation of thesis proposals and the composition of theses are supervised by at least 1 (one) supervisor. The resulting thesis will be orally examined by an examining committee composed of at least 3 (three) examiners accompanying the supervisor.

Graduates Profile
Graduates of the Faculty of Computer Sciences Universitas Indonesia are accepted in businesses and industries as highly-qualified experts in Computer Science and Information Technology. Periodic surveys indicate that most graduates of the Faculty of Computer Sciences Universitas Indonesia work at national and multinational companies, both in Indonesia and abroad, dealing in IT consultation, banking, software industry, and other services. A significant proportion work in state-run institutions or institutes of higher education, or continue their studies both in Indonesia and abroad. A few gratuades even launch startup companies, fulfilling, by means of innovative goods and services, demands in the IT market.
