Metallurgical and Material Engineering

Course Description

The Bachelor Programme of Metallurgical and Material Engineering aims to produce Bachelors of Engineering (ST) possessing capability in designing, processing, and engineering the production and characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials. Its curriculum refers to ABET 2000 (Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology) and the Washington Accord. It deals with issues surrounding metallurgy and material design, the formation of materials, followed by specific adjustments to industrial demands. An emphasis is placed on basic sciences and principles on engineering, applied to principles of metallurgical and material characteristics.

 

Graduates of Metallurgical and Material Engineering, Faculty of Engineering UI also possess capability to perform analysis of user-induced failure. As of 2016 2335 students have graduated from the Programme. Graduates of Metallurgical and Material Engineering are received in various sectors, including the automotive, manufacturing, heavy equipment industry, mines, oil and gas wells, and other sectors of society in Indonesia and abroad.

Tuition Fee

Based on the UI Rector Decree No. 406/SK?R/UI/2021

An Equitable Operational Tuition Fee is payable by regular undergraduates, varying in accordance with each respective applicant’s economic capability.

The Equitable Operational Tuition Fee varies from Rp 100.000 to Rp 7.500.000. For regular undergraduates, as of 2013, there is no entry fee. This is because the entry fee is subsidized by the government through the Operational Assistance of State Universities.

UI uses the Single Tuition Fee payment system where students pay the unit fee for education that has been determined by the study program and is no longer charged per credit.

For non-foreign nationals, Parallel undergraduate education costs are fixed. Tuition fees for Parallel Undergraduate also use a Single Tuition Fee. The Operational Tuition Fee, payable each semester, amounts to Rp 10.000.000,-, while the Entrance Fee, payable on admission, amounts to Rp 50.000.000,-.

Tuition fees are also fixed for foreign nationals applying for the Parallel Programme. Tuition fees for Parallel Undergraduate also use a Single Tuition Fee. The Operational Tuition Fee, payable each semester, amounts to Rp 30.000.000,-, while the Entrance Fee, payable on admission, amounts to Rp 50.000.000,-.
