UI appointed Prof. DR. Dr. Budi Wiweko, SpOG(K), MPH, Int. Aff. RANZCOG as Chair of the Academic Senate for the 2024–2029 period. Prof. Budi, the Chair of the Health Technology Assessment Committee of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, will collaborate with Dr. Rifelly Dewi Astuti, S.E., M.M. as Secretary of the Academic Senate during the same period. This inauguration was done after the inauguration of the Academic Senate Members on Monday at UI Kirti Hall.
UI Chancellor, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., led the inauguration of 73 members of the Academic Senate consisting of 17 ex-officio members (rectors, deans, and school directors), 28 deputy faculty professors, and 28 deputy faculty members nonprofessors. During the inauguration, he congratulated the elected members and expressed his gratitude to the Chairman, Secretary, and all members of the UI Academic Senate for the 2019–2024 period who have been dedicated for five years.
“We can see the results of cooperation between the four organs at UI, demonstrate that we have good intentions to bring UI to a reputable level in Indonesia, ASEAN, and global level,” said Prof. Ari.
As stated in the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No. 75 in 2021 about the Statutes of the University of Indonesia, the Academic Senate is the UI organ that compiles, formulates, determines policies, and provides considerations and supervision in the academic field. The UI Academic Senate has shown such commitment and encouraged UI to achieve achievements recognized by global-ranking institutions.
According to Prof. Ari, the dynamics that occur during the process of achieving this achievement finalize each decision. “I’m sure everything will come to one point for the sake of UI that we love. Therefore, I thank Mr. and Mrs. UI Academic Senate for the 2019–2024 period,” he said.
Prof. Ari also congratulated members of the Academic Senate for the 2024–2029 period who will take on their duties for the next five years.
