Universitas Indonesia (UI) and PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT SMI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in collaboration on Education, Research and Community Service. The signing was carried out on 1 April 2024 at UI Library by the Deputy Chancellor for Human Resources and Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA, and President Director of PT SMI, Edwin Syahruzad.

In his speech, Prof. Dedi said that this collaboration opened up opportunities for good collaboration between UI and PT SMI. “We are welcome to collaborate with PT SMI. “The signing of the MoU and the collaboration agreement between UI and PT SMI is clear evidence of the commitment to work together to positively impact infrastructure development and human resource development in Indonesia,” said Prof. Dedi.

The collaboration carried out by UI and PT SMI will cover five things: research, training activities, knowledge dissemination activities; partnerships in internship programs, and corporate social responsibility/community empowerment. For the initial stage, UI and PT SMI collaborated with the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the Faculty of Public Health (FKM). The collaboration includes internship and research programs in economics and business, and public health.

Hopefully, the collaboration will provide an opportunity for FEB and FKM UI students to be involved in an internship program at PT SMI and conduct relevant research in the industrial world. This will be a good start for students to become competent professionals who can compete in the competitive world. UI’s goal of producing quality human resources aligns with PT SMI’s vision and mission.
