Universitas Indonesia (UI) received five awards from General Directorate of Higher Education, Research, and Technology. Organized by the General Directorate of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) on Thursday (13/01). In this event, there are four award categories, namely Anugerah Kampus Merdeka, Anugerah Kerja Sama, Anugerah Humas, and Anugerah Jurnalis dan Media.

Universitas Indonesia received an award as the Most Independent Campus Internship College; third best in the category of Cooperation Report Management and Cooperation Facilitation of State-Run University Legal Entities; third best in the category of State-Run University Legal Entity Cooperation Data Management; first best in the category of State-Run University Legal Entity Magazine; and hope 1 category of Integrated Service Unit State-Run University Legal Entity.

Universitas Indonesia Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Abdul Haris attended and represented the Rector of Universitas Indonesia to receive the award which took place in a hybrid ceremony at the Auditorium Level 2 Building D Complex General Directorate of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Central Jakarta. He was grateful for the award Universitas Indonesia (UI) received, “This achievement is the result of hard work from all elements of UI. Hopefully UI will be able to improve its performance to the maximum and be followed by other achievements in 2022.”

In his welcoming speech, Plt. Director General of General Directorate of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., IPU, Asean Eng., said that the Public Relations Award and the Journalist and Media Award are awards that are held at the end of every year. “Because it is very important for universities and the community to collaborate on the penta helix, with media being one of the key words. Where the media plays a role in spreading the spirit of optimism, positive news from campus, bringing fresh air to the community to build immunity in the midst of a pandemic as well as building optimism to build a better Indonesia,” he said.

Prof. Nizam said there were two new awards at this event. They are the Independent Campus Award and the Cooperation Award. This award was initiated because the Ministry of Education and Culture is currently driving a powerful transformation in the country through the independent campus program.

Higher Education Institution PR Award is an annual activity that has been carried out since 2017 as a form of monitoring and evaluation of the performance of Public Relations of State-Run University and Higher Education Service Institute. This activity is a measurement of public relations performance in conveying information to the public, especially related to the Independent Learning Curriculum program policy. Participants who participated in the AHD were Legal Entity State-Run Universities, Public Service Entity State-Run Universities, Work Unit State-Run Universities, Higher Education Service Institute, and Private Universities. The aspects assessed in the AHD include the quality of website management, social media, press conferences, magazines, most popular public relations people, Integrated Service Units, and integrated management of public services through Lapor.

The awarding of this award is an appreciation of the Directorate General of Higher Education to stakeholders from universities, partners (ministry, institutions, as well as business and industry), journalists, and the media who have actively participated and achieved the highest achievements in supporting the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus policy and Key Performance Indicators for Higher Education.
