UI students have the opportunity to join an internship at Customer Experience Insight Pty Ltd (CX Insight) in Perth, Australia. They are Dawsan Nomero Maulando and Keisha Mayra Faiza Amaris Hermawan from the Media Production Study Program, and Thariq Arsyad Fauzi from the Public Relations Study Program, Vocational UI. They had internships in human-computer interaction (HCI), user interface (UI), user experience (UX), and other fields like artificial intelligence.

At CX Insight, they gain new experience in handling design, event management, UI/UX research, and marketing. In the marketing department, Tariq learned about content planning, data analysis, and interviewing. Meanwhile, in the digital/print media design and UX research, Keisha and Dawsan learned the application of HCI and design.

“The internship program during November-December 2023 will not only teach hard skills but also soft skills in managing work priorities for various projects. A different work culture requires us to be more professional in communicating and completing work,” said Tariq.

Besides that, these Vocational UI students were also involved in organizing the Diversity and Innovation Tech Fest 2023, an event attended by innovators, technology experts, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from different backgrounds and cultures with innovations they designed and developed.

Dawsan said, “The experience of organizing a big event was a memorable moment during our internship journey. This event, which involved many great people in Australia, provided new insight into the importance of innovation in business. This event was a fun ending to the internship for me, Keisha, and Tariq. I hope other students can get internship opportunities abroad like this.”

This internship program is an implementation of collaboration between Vocational UI and CX Insight which was built in 2023. This program aims to give international exposure for students to compete globally.

Director of the UI Vocational Education Program, Padang Wicaksono, S.E., Ph.D. said that the implementation of link and match between education and industry could expand to the international level. Through this collaboration, I hope that UI Vocational students can become graduates who are ready to compete globally and make Indonesia proud. Thus, Vocational UI continues to strive to create graduates who are ready to work with practice-based curriculum and involve industry directly,” concluded Padang.
