On Monday, May 13, 2013, Renmin University of China visited Universitas Indonesia. Renmin or usually abbreaviated as RUC is the leading research university located in District Haidian, Beijing. As the forefront university in China, RUC focuses on Social and Humanities cluster. RUC is well known as they have been producing many prolific scientists and icons who have strategic impact to the global community, and particularly to China development in the field of law, economy, journalistic and etc. based on the national higher education enrolment test in China, this university consistently ranks on the best third university in China compared to Beijing University and Tsinghua University, especially in art liberal and social science.
The delegation visited UI to discuss the continuation of education cooperation between Universitas Indonesia and RUC. The delegation was lead by Professor Cheng Tianquan (Chairman of University Council) and warmly greeted by Mr. Junaidi M.A. as the head of International Office UI. Edy Prasetyon Ph.D as the vice dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Science abd Rahadjeng Pulungsari, M.Hum, the secretary of Faculty of Humanities UI were also invited together with Nita Madona Sulanti, M.A. (Coordinator of China Study Program Faculty of Humanities UI). The two parties agree to implement concrete cooperation in terms of social and humanities cluster. In the future, UI and RUC will be engaged more in international cooperation.
