The Korea Foundation was established in 1991 to promote awareness and understanding of Korea. Moreover it is also to encourage the friendship of the international community towards Korea and its people. Korea Foundation as a representative organization, conducts a variety of activities and programs such as the promotion of cultural and people exchange. To achieve its aims, Korea Foundation and Universitas Indonesia host its lecture series in Balai Sidang UI at May 21, 2013 from 2-6 pm. The Ambassador Nam Jin Zeon as the Executive Vice President of the Korea Foundation also came together with Prof. Sung Ki Mon, Director of Korean Studies Department, and Mr. Kim Jo Yong, the Counsellor of Korean Embassy in Indonesia. Program Officer, Korean Studies Department, the Korea Foundation, Ms Eun Sil Jeong also participates in the series.
Three professors, Prof. Jongseok Kim talked about Development of Korean companies and business culture in Korea, while Professor Sangyoon Ma approached the participants with lecture on twenty years of crisis on the Korean Peninsula, 1993-2013. The last, Prof. Kyongmi Danyel Kwon exposed the makings of Korean wave, then and now.
