UI Presented “Adjunct Professor” Title to Mureo Kasahara

Universitas Indonesia by its Faculty of Medicine (FKUI) presented adjunct professor title. This time, the title was given to a liver transplant expert, dr. Med. Mureo Kasahara, MD, Ph.D on Wednesday, August 10 th 2016 at Senat Akademik Room, FK, UI Salemba Campus.

Prof. Kasahara is a Director of Liver Transplantation Center in National Center for Child Health and Development (NCCHD) who has given many contribution to FKUI, especially for Department of Surgery FKUI-RSCM.

The contribution was in form of guidance and knowledge transfer in liver transplantation to all lecturer and specialist students of Pediatric Surgery Division FKUI-RSCM. “We used to face difficulties to do surgery for children that had malnutrition and underweight. The risk was too much,” said him.

Prof. Kasahara has ability to do liver transplantation surgery to children with body weight under 5-10 Kg with detail and tidy result. This ability became a very precious knowledge to be delivered to all specialist in Indonesia.

By that reason, Prof. Kasahara got adjunct professor since he is considered as one of foreign academician that play an important role in the progress of health education and research in Indonesia.

The knowledge transfer process is part of cooperation between FKUI-RSCM and NCCHD Japan that is part of UI service process. In the future, FKUI will keep doing cooperation process in knowledge transfer with various health institutions in the world.

Adjunct Professor is a honorary degree for someone from foreign institution that has ability in health or medical education and research, and willing to share their knowledge to FKUI.
