Thanks to its high dedication and contribution in developing human resources (HR) in the insurance sector, the Insurance Administration and Actuarial Study Program, Vocational Education Program of Universitas Indonesia (UI) received the Adiwiyata award as “The Best University with Highest Contribution in Developing the Insurance Industry 2022” from the Association of Indonesian Insurance Management Experts (AAMAI). This award was received directly by the Head of the Insurance and Actuarial Administration Study Program, Yulial Hikmah, S.Si., M.Si., who was present to represent Vocational Education UI to receive the award.
“We are grateful for the Adiwiyata award. We also hope that this award can encourage the Insurance and Actuarial Administration study program to continue to make a better contribution in producing graduates who are ready to work in the insurance world. Not only through teaching from lecturers, but also experiences from practitioners who participate in teaching in the classroom,” said Yulial Hikmah.
AAMAI Chairman, Dr. Robby Loho, APAI, CIIB, AAI-K, QIP, ICBU, ICPU, CPIE, AMRP, FMII, ANZIIF (Snr.Assoc) CIP, said that the development of human resources in the insurance sector is currently very necessary. “At this professional graduation, we also gave awards to a number of companies and universities that are consistent and highly dedicated in contributing to developing human resources in the insurance industry during 2022,” said Robby at the AAMAI XXX Professional Graduation event held at Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, on Monday (26/09).
AAMAI plays a role in helping the government provide, prepare, and develop professionals in the insurance industry in Indonesia so collaboration with universities is important. AAMAI is also one of the partners that collaborates with Vocational School UI in an effort to develop graduates into insurance professionals. In addition to cooperation in providing competency certification tests, several practitioners from AAMAI are also involved in teaching such as public lectures and guest lecturers at Vocational School UI.
UI Vocational Insurance and Actuarial Administration Study Program is one of the study programs in Indonesia that continues to produce competent and quickly absorbed human resources in the field of insurance and actuarial in the industry every year. To realize this, the curriculum and learning development process is also carried out in line with the syllabus of the Association of Indonesian Insurance Management Experts (AAMAI), Malaysian Insurance Institute (MII), and the Indonesian Actuary Association (PAI).
Each graduate will be guided to have various professional certificates, both in insurance and actuarial fields, such as Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) and Certificate in Life Insurance (CLI) from AAMAI, several actuary professional exam modules from PAI, and Level 5 Insurance Underwriting Certification from the UI Professional Certification Institute (LSP UI).
Director of the UI Vocational Education Program Padang Wicaksono, S.E, Ph.D., expressed his pride in the Insurance Administration and Actuarial study programs that again made UI Vocational proud. “After receiving “Excellent” accreditation from BAN-PT, now the Insurance Administration and Actuarial study program also received the Adiwiyata award from AAMAI as a form of appreciation for producing graduates in the insurance field. Of course, Vocational School UI will continue to improve the quality of graduates with a number of curriculum developments that involve industry and professional associations in it. That way, graduates can be easily absorbed and match the needs of the industry when they graduate,” said Padang.
