Faculty of Law UI Team Got Champion Title on AIMCC 2016

Students of Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) successfully won on ALSA International Moot Court (AIMCC) that was held on August 19th to 21st in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

UI successfully got Champion and Best Memorial for Claimant title. With this achievement, UI successfully preserve their champion title that was obtained in 2015.

The event was divided into two rounds, that was memorial making round and international oral round. International round was divided into two rounds, that was preliminary round and final round, then two best team would get into final round.

On final round, FHUI faced National University of Singapore and successfully got champion title. With this achievement, UI has their right to bring home the trophy, that is Trophy of Rajah & Tann Asia to Indonesia.

FHUI Team consisted of Raoul Aldy Muskitta (Class of 2012), Aldwin Octavianus Wijaya (Student of 2014), Angky Banggaditya (Class of 2014), and Jovico Nicolaus Honanda (Class of 2013). Their trainer was Howard Julio Tigris (Student of 2013).

In Nicolaus’s opinion, the biggest benefit of participating in AIMCC was obtaining new knowledge and insight about this year’s theme of AIMCC, that was investment law.

“Moreover, we also got new friends from all over Asia and good relation with the board of judges,” added him.

AIMCC is an annual moot court competition between student of law school that was held by ALSA International and participated by more than 15 countries from all over Asia. The competition focus on issues about direct investment of foreign party in a country.

Asian Law Students Association (ALSA) is an international non-profit organization that consists of Faculty of Law of Universities in Asia and regularly hold annual law competition to sharpen and train the knowledge of law students in Asia.
