Two leading startups fostered by the Directorate of Innovation and Science Techno Park (DISTP) of Universitas Indonesia (UI), Herlens and Neupsi, shared their secrets to success in the startup world at the UI Incubate 2024 Bootcamp event. The event, which lasted for three days, from October 14 to 16 at the RA Suite Simatupang, Jakarta, presented a number of startup participants who learned and developed their insights into facing business challenges. This activity aims to prepare startups more maturely, from formulating ideas to competing in the international market.
Neupsi, a startup that focuses on digital neuropsychology, and Herlens, a pioneer in cervical cancer prevention innovation, provided in-depth insights into important strategies for developing startups. Both startups have proven their role in the international arena, with Neupsi successfully becoming a participant in the University Incubator Consortium (UNIIC) Ideathon 2024 in Palawan, Philippines, and Herlens competing in various global events, such as the Hult Prize Global Accelerator 2024 in the UK.
Neupsi CEO, Kenny Valentino, assessed that the UI Incubate Bootcamp is an important event to hone the skills of startup founders. “The meeting between startup participants is an important momentum to interact and share experiences and open up opportunities for collaboration between startups,” he said. He also emphasized the importance of commitment and accuracy in identifying problems. “The first crucial step in planning is to identify the problem accurately and specifically, then offer solutions to the intended target,” said Kenny.
Nabiel from Herlens also gave his views, highlighting the importance of intensive training like this for growing startups. “Building a company is not just about creating solutions, but also many other aspects such as finance, marketing, and personal growth. If you want to succeed and be successful, follow this activity properly so that the innovated product can develop,” said Nabiel.
One of the bootcamp participants, Nanik, who serves as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Delvio, expressed her enthusiasm for this program. “This training provides a lot of material that helps me develop skills in the marketing aspect. I learned a lot from practitioners and friends from various startups,” she said. Nanik also hopes to take advantage of every opportunity available, especially regarding funding from UI Incubate to participate in various international competitions.
