Ministry of Education of Netherlands Explored Cooperation with UI

Minister of Education, Culture and Science of Netherlands, Mariette Bussemaker, along with education delegation of Netherlands visited Universitas Indonesia (UI) to hold a meeting for exploring cooperation.

In the meeting, Mariette Bussemaker offered a strong cooperation in culture and vocational education as well between universities in Netherlands and UI.

Among of the representation of universities in Netherlands were Han van Krieken (Rector of Radboud University) and Win Boomkamp (President of Saxion University of Applied Sciences).

Dean of all faculties in UI also attended the meeting. Rector of UI, Prof.Dr.Ir. Muhammad Anis, M. Met., offered cooperation in multidisciplinary subject.

“Water management, waste management, and cooperation in renewable energy may be done, since we already have research center that concentrating in those issues,” said him.

The representation of Netherlands also delivered their interest to cooperate in the development of Bahasa Indonesia studies, big data, and vocational education as well, in order to fulfill the demand of human resources.

The visit to UI was part of Mariette Bussemaker cultural visit to Indonesia, that was held on February 12th to 16th 2017.

In this visit, besides exploring cooperation with UI, Bussemaker also visited Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta.

Previously, Bussemaker visited Indonesian State Palace to meet President Joko Widodo, Muhammad Nasir (Minister of Research and Technology) and Muhadjir Effendy (Minister of Education).

The aim of this visit is to strengthen relation between Netherlands and Indonesia in higher education, vocational education, and cultural heritage.
