Faculty of Computer Science Team of Universitas Indonesia (UI) got 34 th place on ACM
ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) 2017 that was held at Rapid City,
South Dakota, United States on May 24 th 2017.
This achievement was such a pride for UI since ACM ICPC is the most legendary, biggest
and prestigious contest in the world.
Competition in this event was also very competitive because the selection systems are
multilevel and multiphase that is done in national, regional and international level.
From 2.948 team who signed up in this competition, there were only 132 team who were
announced as finalists and entitled to participated in the final selection in United States.
UI Faculty of Computer Science Team consisted of Rakina Zata Amni (Faculty of
Computer Science UI year 2013), Zamil Majdy (Faculty of Computer Science UI year
2014), Muhammad Ayaz Dzulfikar (Faculty of Computer Science UI year 2015) also their
coach, Denny (Lecturer of UI Faculty of Computer Science).
In the preparation for the final stage, the team had done several preparation practice that
consisted of material deepening and speed practice.
ACM-ICPC is an annual programming competition between universities all over the world
that is held by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and sponsored by IBM.
Participants consisted of ten thousands of computer science students from about 2.000
universities of more than 80 countries in six continents.
This competition needs creativity, cooperation and innovation in developing a software.
Besides, this competition encouraged the participants to be able to perform under
pressure.
