Japanese Regional Studies Master Programme
Course Description
Japanese Regional Studies, like other Regional Studies Programmes, differs from studies such as anthropology, archeology, sociology, linguistics, literature, biography, etc. that are discipline-oriented, i.e. which primarily concerns itself with studies related to the disciplines of the respective fields of study. A Regional Studies Programme, meanwhile, is a field of study that departs from certain issues or concrete phenomena that emerge in a certain point of space or time in the socio-cultural circumstances as a whole of the part of the world in question.
Bearing aforesaid description in mind, the Japanese Regional Studies Programme explores Japanese socio-cultural circumstances in whole as an object of study. Studies in the context of the Japanese Regional Studies Programme aims to raise issues or concrete phenomena appearing at a certain time and place amongst Japanese social-cultural circumstances.
