This year, 397 awards in 11 main categories were given to 144 recipients. Recipients of the Diktiristek Award include universities, LLDikti, partners from ministries/agencies, the business world, the industrial world, journalists, and media editors.

There are eleven main categories in the 2022 Diktiristek Award, namely the National Priority Award, the Partner Award for Supporting Cooperation in the Diktiristek Program, the 1st Learning and Student Affairs Award, the 2nd Learning and Student Affairs Award, the Resource Award, the Institutional Award, the Technology Research and Community Service Award, the Award Database for Higher Education, Public Relations Award, Cooperation Award, and Journalist and Media Award.

Plt. Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN.Eng., said that the theme of Higher Education for the last three years was “Gotong Royong” (work in togetherness). Dikti together transforms higher education towards future higher education that prepares superior, adaptive, innovative, creative, and noble human resources (HR).

According to Prof. Nizam, there’s been some transformation done. First, in the Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) transformation, the number of students who have participated in this program is 180 thousand and those who take part in the MBKM program independently are around 250 thousand participants. Based on a survey conducted, graduates from tertiary institutions who take MBKM have a shorter waiting period for work and earn a higher first income than other graduates.

“Another transformation is the research that we push downstream. At the G20 yesterday, we presented the Red and White Electric Bus for vehicles during the G20 procession. A total of 30 electric buses were produced by PT INKA together with 4 universities in the form of a consortium and also a large 12 meter electric bus produced by UI and PT MAB. A concrete form of collaboration produces many products through the Matching Fund, Kedaireka programs, and in the future it can be synergized with LPDP so that the scale will be even bigger,” said Prof. Nizam.

The Diktiristek Award is given through a series of selection processes which include judging and selection based on data collection that measures the performance of tertiary institutions, LLDIKTI [transformation from Private Higher Education Coordination], partners from institutional ministries, as well as the business and industrial world. “The Diktiristek Award is an annual event to appreciate the performance of higher education stakeholders in an effort to build superior human resources and have an impact on society, nation and state. We hope that this award can spur the spirit of higher education personnel to continue to improve their performance in implementing higher education, research and technology programs and policies,” said Prof. Tjitjik Srie Tjahjandarie as Plt. Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education.
