A business feasibility study is required when one is about to start and run a business. For ordinary people, let alone novice businessmen, a business feasibility study still sounds unfamiliar. In fact, this study has an important role in business, because it is oriented towards the success or failure of the business.

A business feasibility study also determines whether a business is worth running or not, in addition to its ongoing operational activities. These facts motivated the Department of Commercial Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Indonesia to provide business feasibility study assistance for Village-Owned Enterprises Megamendung Jaya, Bogor, West Java.

Currently, Village-Owned Enterprises Megamendung Jaya has two business units, which are Megamendung Jaya Health Clinic and Kedai Kopi Ratio. Assistance through this community service program is carried out for product development and strategy development in order to ensure the sustainability of Village-Owned Entreprises Megamendung business.

“Strategy development related to supply and demand, marketing, HR needs, production and financial analysis for Megamendung Jaya Clinic and Ratio Coffee Shop. This assistance was delivered by two resource persons, Dra. Maria Eurelia Wayan, M.Ak., and Dr. Fibria Indriati, M.Sc., with facilitators from students of the Department of Commerce Administration,” said Dra. Novita Ikasari, M.Comm., Ph.D. as the Chairperson for the activity.

According to Novita, this community service program of the Commerce Administration Department of Universitas Indonesia Faculty of Administrative Sciences is the initial stage, and she hopes it can continue because mentoring takes a long time. “Thus, this activity can provide positive benefits for all parties involved and be able to solve the problems currently faced by Village-Owned Enterprises Megamendung Jaya,” he said.

Village-Owned Enterprises Director M. Yusuf Solihatul Munawar responded positively by saying that a business feasibility study from various aspects, especially finance, is necessary, especially when submitting proposals to partners. “This program is very helpful so that the Village-Owned Enterprises can be independent in the future. The hope is that the Megamendung Jaya Clinic can immediately cooperate and become a referral for the Social Security Organizing Agency as well as open 24 hours. Related to this, there is a need for additional permanent human resources, because the current human resources are only voluntary health workers,” he said.

This activity is expected to be used as the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (Independent Learning) program taken by students of the Department of Administrative Sciences. In addition, the Universitas Indonesia Faculty of Administrative Sciences community service program also aims to create decent jobs for villagers and encourage village economic growth.

Megamendung Jaya Enterprise is one of the Village-Owned Enterprises in Megamendung District, Bogor, West Java, which has five business units including the Megamendung Jaya Clinic – which was established at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic –, a Coffee and Food Shop called ‘Rasio Kopi’, division tourism, MSMEs, and Payment Point Online Bank.

The establishment of the Megamendung Clinic aims to provide Rapid and Swab services as well as a public health consultation room. While at Kedai Kopi Rasio, the coffee served comes from the Robusta variety of Coffea canephora produced from the Paseban forest, the forest at the foot of Mount Gedogan, and the mountains in the Megamendung village area of Bogor with Agroforestry planting modeling.
