On Monday, February 20th 2017, Iran’s Ambassador for Indonesia, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi along with his entourage visited Universitas Indonesia (UI) to explore educational cooperation between the two institutions.
The embassy entourage were greeted by leader of UI, Prof.Dr.Ir. Muhammad Anis, M. Met. (Rector of UI) , Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, S.S., M.A. (Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs), Dr. Hamid Chalid, S.H., LL.M (Vice Rector for Human Resources, Development and Cooperation), and Prof. Melda Kamil Ariadno (Head of UI International Office).
The meeting was held at Ruang Rapat A of Pusat Administrasi Universitas (PAU), UI Depok.
In the meeting, representatives of Iran Embassy asked about UI’s mechanism and system for cooperation.
Chalid, Vice Rector for Human Resources, Development and Cooperation, explained that cooperation with UI can be done directly without any other parties since UI is a university with Legal Entity State University status.
He also explained that to do cooperation with UI, there will be Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), that will be followed by Letter of Implementation between the two parties.
Meanwhile, Melda Kamil Ariadno (Head of UI International Office) introduced the excellent programs of UI, such as Visiting Scholar, UI Creates, UI Global Internship and research cooperation that enable students and lecturers cooperate each other.
Also in the meeting, UI offered cooperation on the development of halal industry and techno park at UI.
On the other side, the Iran entourage expressed their interests to cooperate in tourist vocational, maritime and cultural aspects.
