Professor of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, Sp.P(K), MARS, DTM&H, DTCE, FISR, won an Award from the Indonesian Museum of World Records (MURI) as Author of the Most Articles about COVID-19 in Mass Media. The award was handed over directly by the Founder of MURI, Prof. Dr. (H.C) KP Jaya Suprana on April 1, 2024 at Indonesian World Records Museum, Jaya Suprana Institute, Jakarta.

This award was given to recognize his extraordinary contribution in disseminating health information during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Tjandra has written 254 articles and informative opinions about COVID-19 published in various mass media. These articles increase public awareness of the virus and support the government’s efforts to combat the spread of false information about health that incites society.

The articles he wrote about COVID-19 were compiled into a book entitled COVID-19 in the Writings of Prof. Tjandra. This book aims to be a record or portrait of the realities and challenges of COVID-19, both in Indonesia and other countries. Consisting of four volumes, this book discusses the journey of world society through this challenging time.

Prof. Tjandra explained that three things motivated him to write these articles. First, the willingness to participate in explaining the issue of COVID-19, which was debated in society. Second, it aims to answer questions frequently asked by journalists, and lastly, because of hobby in writing.
