Winning 7 Champion Titles in Gemastik XV Kemendikbudristek 2022, Universitas Indonesia Aced in 5 out of 11 Competition Branches
Seven championship titles were successfully brought home by students of the Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) Universitas Indonesia (UI) from the National Student Exhibition in Information and Communication Technology (GEMASTIK) XV held by the National Achievement Center, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), on Thursday (24/11). UI won 1st place in the Cyber Security branch, 1st and 2nd place in the Data Mining branch, 1st and 2nd place in the Programming branch, 2nd place in the UX Design branch, and 3rd place in the Smart Device, Embedded System & IoT branch.
This year, GEMASTIK XV event entitled “ICT for Indonesia to Recover Faster to Rise Stronger” aims to increase the competence of Indonesian students so that they are able to act as agents of change in advancing ICT and its use. In addition, this program is expected to be a supporting tool for the creation of innovations in the field of technology, especially ICT, which have an impact on the wider community.
In this championship, UI aced 5 of the 11 branches that were contested, both in the form of competition formats and work competitions. The eleven branches of the competition are Programming, Cyber Security, Data Mining, User Experience Design (UX Design), Animation, Smart City, ICT Scientific Paper, Software Development, Smart Device, Embedded System & IoT, Game Development, and ICT Business Development.
Dean of Fasilkom UI Dr. Ir. Petrus Mursanto, M.Sc. really appreciated this achievement. According to Dr. Petrus, the collaboration and cooperation that exists between students and supervisors has resulted in various works and innovations being born to support the acceleration of recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Congratulations for the achievements that have been achieved by our students at GEMASTIK XV. We also thank the lecturers who have supervised the students so that this achievement can be achieved. Hopefully, this spirit can be maintained, and next year we can be even better,” said Dr. Peter.
In this competition, UI included 7 Fasilkom UI student teams consisting of 21 members and 7 supervisors who were involved in this competition. Each team was guided by Amril Syalim, S.Kom., M.Eng., Ph.D .; Denny, S.Kom., M.I.T., Ph.D .; Dr. Eng. Laksmita Rahadianti, S.Kom., M.Sc.; Harry Budi Santoso, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D .; Denny, S.Kom., M.I.T., Ph.D .; Ari Wibisono, S.Kom., M.Kom.; and Dr. Eng. Laksmita Rahadianti, S.Kom., M.Sc.
The 21 students who are members of the 7 teams are Prajna, Gregorius Bhisma, Muhammad Faishol Amirul Mukminin, Pikatan Arya Bramajati, Abdul Rafi, Fernando Nathaniel Sutanto, Harakan Akbar, Mardianto, Daniel Syahputra Purba, Hafiz Bhadrika Alamsyah, Rayhan Maulana Akbar, Muhammad Raihan Andriqa, Mahartha Gemilang, Muflih Naufal Maxi, Arvin, Muhammad Haitsam Sidqy, Ketut Ivan Sridana, Juan Dharmananda Khusuma, Made Swastika Nata Negara, Bryan Tjandra, and Nyoo Steven Christopher.
This series of competitions has been going on since October 2022. The series consisted of Registration for College and Team, Pre-race Warming, Uploading Proposals/Online Elimination, Preliminary Judging Period, Announcement of Finalist List, and Final Round & Highlight of the Event. At the peak of the event last Thursday (24/11), it ended with a Closing Ceremony, Winner Announcement, and Prize Giving, which were held at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang.
