Leonardus Kamilius (Leon) graduated from Universitas Indonesia in 2009 with the best honors. He worked as a business analyst at an international-scale Consultant company, McKinsey Indonesian. He then quit his job in 2010 and founded a microfinance institution called “Koperasi Kasih Indonesia (KKI),” which assists the lower to middle-class citizens, especially women in the district of Cilining, North Jakarta. This institution aims to help build small businesses by providing money-saving services, lending money, and training programs for financial management. As of today, KKI supports approximately 9,800 active members through encouragement and mindset training, instilling saving habits and business capital loans. Leon received the 2012 ILUNI FEB UI Award and the 2012 Social Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst and Young.
