Depok, BPMA UI – BPMA UI held a PerBAN-PT socialization regarding PEMUTU on Tuesday (05/03) together with the BAN-PT Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Slamet Wahyudi, S.T., M.T. as a resource person.

BPMA carried out socialization activities to provide information regarding PerBAN-PT No. 1 of 2024 concerning Amendments to PerBAN-PT Number 10 of 2023 concerning Reporting of Accredited Status by International Accreditation Institutions owned by study programs and PerBAN-PT No. 5 of 2024 concerning Instruments for Monitoring and Evaluation of Higher Education Quality for Extension of Accredited Status Through Automation Mechanisms.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance of Higher Education or Private Higher Education or PEMUTU is a portal for the accreditation extension mechanism implemented as a mandate from Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 53 of 2023 concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education which BAN-PT of the Ministry of Education Research and Technology Culture will implement.

This accreditation extension mechanism is implemented through an automated mechanism without assessment by assessors by monitoring and evaluating higher education quality indicators based on data and information available at the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, such as data in the Higher Education Database which is implemented in an interoperable manner.

Head of BPMA UI, Prof. Sri Hartati Dewi Reksodiputro, Ph.D. said that the socialization event which focused on PerBAN-PT regarding PEMUTU was a preparation for implementing this policy, considering that UI accreditation will end in 2027.

“Today’s discussion focuses on PerBAN-PT regarding PEMUTU. Previously PEPA was implemented for study programs, then in the future PEPA will be replaced by PEMPS and PEMUTU will be applied to institutions,” said Prof. Sri Hartati.

Furthermore, Prof. Sri Hartati said that institutions whose accreditation was about to expire were extended through an automation mechanism with the status of not being accredited or accredited.

“Institutions whose accreditation will expire soon will be extended through an automation mechanism. Institutional accreditation has no ranking because it is only accredited and not accredited.

Prof. Slamet said that institutions that do not meet the requirements will be given the opportunity for six months to correct the data. If the institution passes, it is required to apply for accreditation. For new study programs, BAN-PT will provide temporary accredited status valid for 5 years, after which BAN-PT will monitor it. According to him, it is important to carry out re-accreditation or apply for ISK before 2025.

“The temporary accreditation is valid for 5 years, then monitoring will be held. If there are study programs that are not yet outstanding, it is better to re-accredit them before 2025,” explained Prof. Slamet.

“In 2025 there will no longer be applications for the nine criteria. In January until August 2025, we will complete and prepare forms in accordance with Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023,” he added.
