“If we look at the preamble of the 1945 Constitution, we consciously put world peace as one of our national goals,” said TGB. According to him, in addition to protecting all of Indonesia’s bloodshed, advancing public welfare, and educating the nation’s life, “There is a fourth goal which I think not all countries in the world mention in the preamble of their constitution as stated in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution, which is to participate in creating world order. TGB said. This view was conveyed when he became a speaker at a national seminar entitled ‘Indonesian Endeavor for World Peace’ which was organized by the School of Strategic and Global Studies (SKSG) of the University of Indonesia (UI) through the House of Peace Center for Strategic and Global Studies (CSGS) SKSG UI, on Thursday (15/12). This event took place offline and online at the IASTH Building Floor 5, UI Salemba Campus, Jakarta. Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) for Foreign Relations, Prof. Dr. Sudarnoto, was present on the same occasion as a speaker. TGB, who was once the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (2008-2018) said, “Where is a country that is so diverse in religion, ethnicity, and all kinds of things, but still maintains the integrity as a nation.” He added, despite its diversity, Indonesia remains strong as a nation. For this reason, Indonesia’s success as a nation must be publicized to the world.

Continuing this statement, Professor of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) UI, Prof. Muhammad Luthfi, M.A., Ph.D., delivered his presentation regarding Indonesia’s leading role in maintaining world order. “Indonesia consistently voices the rights of the Palestinian people, including pushing for the establishment of a Palestinian state that is independent, democratic, prosperous and lives side by side in peace,” said Luthfi. SKSG Director, Athor Subroto, Ph.D., in his remarks said that challenges to world peace and humanity continue to be juxtaposed with global geoeconomic and geopolitical conditions. “We must continue to promote world peace and humanity through seminars like this. We as a school that studies this matter, will always support it,” said Athor.
