UI AND UNIVERSITAS NEGERI PADANG SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Universitas Indonesia (UI) and Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP), which have the same commitment in the fields of health and information technology, agreed to collaborate together as outlined in the cooperation agreement. The signing of the cooperation agreement was held on Tuesday (7/3), at the University Central Administration Building, UI Depok Campus.

Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs UI Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris said that this collaboration was in accordance with UI’s vision and mission to provide broad access to education for Indonesian people. “Hopefully the synergy of the two universities can encourage advanced knowledge and quality of education in Indonesia that implements the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Prof. Haris.

Regarding the implementation of joint learning in the field of information technology in the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, the collaboration was signed by the Director of Continuing Education Program–Center for Computing and Information Technology (CEP-CCIT), the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suryanegara, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNP Dr. Fahmi Rizal, M.Pd., M.T.

In this collaboration, joint learning will be carried out for students of the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program for a certain duration (maximum 4 semesters) at CEP-CCIT FTUI, or until finishing studies in the college. Registration and selection will open for prospective students of the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program who take part in this collaboration program.

In addition, the curriculum will be set for learning for a maximum of four semesters at CEP-CCIT FTUI and during learning in the Informatics Study Program and Informatics Engineering Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNP. Learning management and other matters will also be implemented to support the success of learning. At the end of the study, a certificate of expertise in Information Technology will be issued by CEP-CCIT FTUI and a Bachelor’s diploma will be issued by UNP.

In addition to the field of informatics engineering, cooperation is also established in the development of education, research, and community service activities in the field of public health. In this case, the cooperation agreement was signed by Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, UI Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N., and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Health UNP Dr. Suryanef, M.Si.

The scope of this cooperation will include development in the field of education in order to improve the quality of graduates of the Nursing Undergraduate Program and the Nursing Professional Program. This is done through curriculum development activities, mentoring, teaching, internship, credit transfer system (CTS), seminars, workshops, education and training, as well as the use of laboratory facilities, libraries, or other relevant activities in the field of Nursing.

In addition, development in the field of research and community service will be carried out to improve the quality of outputs in the form of publications, intellectual property rights (IPR), and other outputs. Improving the governance of higher education in Nursing will also be carried out through advancing the human resources of lecturers or academic personnel with further education, training, internships, foster universities, or other relevant activities in the field of Nursing.

UNP Rector Prof. Drs. Ganefri, M.Pd., Ph.D. conveyed that this collaboration was carried out in an effort to prepare the Faculty of Medicine and Human Resources, as well as strengthen the long-established partnership. One of these collaborations is the collaboration with FTUI regarding the development of vocational education to improve the quality of implementing the Three Pillars of Higher Education. “UI has always been our role model for inspiration and innovation, including in this collaboration,” said Prof. Ganefri.

The signing of this collaboration was also attended by Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation UI drg. Nurtami, Ph.D., Sp,OF(K); Vice Chancellor for HR and Assets UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UI Prof. Dr. dr. Ari Fahrial Syam, SpPD-KGEH., MMB; Dean of FTUI Prof. Dr. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU; Director of Cooperation UI Dr. Toto Pranoto, S.E,, M.M.; Head of Technical Implementation Unit of Campus Environmental Security Ach. Mukhtarul Huda, S.H.I., S.H., M.Si; as well as from officials from UNP. On that occasion, representatives from UNP also visited the Health Sciences Cluster (RIK) UI and the UI Hospital.
