The Guest House of the Center for Japanese Studies (GH CJS) of Universitas Indonesia (UI) was reopened as a self-quarantine place for People Without Covid-19 Symptoms This is related to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in Depok City lately. The Depok City Government has communicated with the Depok City Health Office and UI’s Makara Hospitality Management (MHM) to reopen GH CJS, which was returned to its previous function.

“The quarantine activities have started on February 2, 2022 at the CJS Guest House, where the Depok City Health Office acts as the organizer of the activities,” said Amelita Lusia, Head of the UI Public Relations and Public Information Disclosure Bureau. “Previously, CJS UI had become an independent isolation place (isoman) for Depok residents, then closed in November 2021 because Covid-19 transmission cases had decreased,” he said again.

GH CJS is located in the Faculty of Humanities (FHum) area, adjacent to FSPS UI. Between GH CJS and the public area, a partition has been provided, precisely between the canteen and the guest house where the isoter is located. Those categorized as People Without Symptoms patients undergo centralized isolation at CJS UI, and can participate in various activities there, such as joint exercises and participating in online motivation every Saturday.

Erick A. Soyer, CHA, Head of the Makara Hospitality Management (MHM) Special Service and Community Service Unit, which manages Wisma Makara and the UI Center for Japanese Studies, said the GH CJS integrated isolation site has a capacity of 56 beds for self isolation patients and health workers. Currently, the bed occupancy rate is close to full.

Erick explained that the centralized isolation facility at CJS UI is intended for Depok residents aged 15 to 60 years with the requirement that they do not have comorbidities and are in an independent condition (do not need the help of others in carrying out daily activities). “To qualify for centralized isolation at CJS, you must bring your ID (especially Depok ID), proof of swab or antigen and a referral letter from the Community Health Centers or hospital. Then, observation is carried out at the Community Health Centers or hospital as well. So, CJS only accepts Covid19 patients without symptoms with a 10-day quarantine period,” said Erick.

This CJS UI centralized isolation place is managed by Makara Hospitality Management (MHM) UI which also coordinates and cooperates with the Depok City Government Covid-19 Task Force and the UI Internal Directorate. Every day, disinfectants are sprayed in public areas and rooms used by patients who have finished quarantine.
