Universitas Indonesia (UI) held International Asian Researcher Symposium 2016 for the first time, titled “Asian Role in Suistanable World Development”.
The symposium was held in two days on April 25th to 26th 2016 at UI Depok and attended by not less than 163 researcher form several countries in Asia.
The purpose of this event was to present inventions that were invented by Asian researcher, so that there will be cooperation that generate solutions for problems in Indonesia.
The opening of the symposium was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M. Met. (Rector of UI), Prof. Dr. Ainun Na’im (Secretary General of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia), and Arif Havas Oegroseno, SH, LL.M. (Deputy Minister for Maritime Sovereignty of Indonesia).
In the event, UI presented 72 researcher from three clusters of science, that are health, science and technology, and social and humanities.
Among the research that were presented are Indonesia`s Position in Development of Regional International Environmental Law in ASEAN dari Andreas Pramudianto, Systemically Important Financial Institutions (SIFI) in Indonesian Banking System by Zafri Husodo for social and humanity field.
Sustainable fishery Cooling Technology Application in Indonesia by Ardiyansyah Yatim for science and technology field.
The effectiveness of community volunteers empowerment to increase level of pulmonary TB clients, self care independence in Depok by Astuti Yuni Nursasi for health sciences field.
Expectation from this event was the top researchers in Indonesia getting acknowledged in international level, as well as to motivate researchers to improve their research quality.
