As an effort to realize cooperation in the fields of education, research, and community service, Universitas Indonesia (UI) through Abdurrahman Wahid Center for Peace and Humanities (AWCPH) UI signed a memorandum of understanding with Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung in the Central Administration Building, UI Depok Campus, on Tuesday (13/12). This cooperation agreement was signed by Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and UI Assets, Prof. Dr. Ir. Dedi Priadi, DEA; and Vice Chancellor III for Student Affairs and Cooperation at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, Dr. Idrus Ruslan, M.Ag. In his welcoming speech, Prof. Dedi said that UI continues to support better synergy with all stakeholders. More than that, UI is also open to collaborating with UIN Raden Intan Lampung in strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
“In supporting Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, UI also provides services from Center for Independence Learning (CIL) UI in which both parties can cooperate with. In addition, UI also has a Special Work Unit (UKK), both in the form of Commercial UKK and Community Service UKK, which are a forum for UI academics to realize UI’s goal of becoming an Entrepreneurial University,” said Prof. Dedi. This cooperation agreement includes several activities, including research collaboration and resource development; organizing scientific activities, scientific studies, seminars, and workshops; improvement and development of human resource competencies; and other activities that has been agreed upon.
Through this collaboration between the two universities, Dr. Idrus Ruslan said, “We are very proud because so far we have only collaborated with fellow PTKINs or State Islamic Universities. However, today I feel extraordinary that UIN Raden Intan is collaborating with Universitas Indonesia.”
The meeting was also attended by UI party, Director of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA) as well as Head of AWCPH Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, M.Sc., Ph.D.; Director of Cooperation Dr. Toto Pranoto; and Director of Research and Development Munawar Khalil, S.Sc., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D. Meanwhile, from UIN Raden Intan party, there was Head of Cooperation and Institutional Cooperation Subdivision Anis Handayani, S.Ag, M.Sos.
Head of AWCPH UI Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, M.Sc., Ph.D. said that as a center for community service and research in the field of peace and humanity, AWCPH UI has organized several activities in collaboration with the center of religious moderation at UIN Raden Intan Lampung and prepared proposals for activities to be carried out in the next few years. It is hoped that this collaboration can provide maximum benefits for the country.
“In this case, our vision and mission show similarities, which in essence is how we can contribute to the development of a better Indonesia from the various fields and disciplines that we are currently working on. We want to expand cooperation so that the benefits can be felt not only by universities but also by the people around us,” said Ahmad Syafiq.
