At a young age, the Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI) made a relatively outstanding contribution. RSUI’s contribution to the local community was seen more obvious during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time of entering its third year, RSUI held a series of activities starting from January to February 2022, with the theme of the 3rd RSUI Anniversary “Synergy Towards New Hopes, Uniting Energy to Build RSUI”.

RSUI has only been operating for one year when the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. With all the challenges and limitations it has, RSUI has quickly succeeded in developing itself into a referral hospital for handling Covid-19. “The key to being able to survive and continue to grow is collaboration and cooperation. That is shown by the theme that was carried on the 3rd anniversary of RSUI,” said dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D., Secretary of the University of Universitas Indonesia.

According to the President Director of RSUI, Dr. dr. Astuti Giantini, Sp.PK(K)., MPH., in the RSUI Anniversary national seminar, “The establishment of RSUI is to provide the best service to the community, as well as a location to educate prospective health workers. The hospital was designed with a comprehensive service concept with the Health Sciences Association (RIK), in clusters with an interprofessional education system.

This RSUI National Seminar activity carries the theme “Collaboration, Innovation and Integration in Healthcare Industry” with the aim of generating various thoughts related to the role of RSUI’s internal and external stakeholders in realizing the health status of the Indonesian people. The Indonesian Minister of Health said, with the Covid-19 pandemic, this has become a global health problem that has an impact on health services throughout the world.

At the national level, the pandemic has resulted in the destruction of the resilience of the national health system. For this reason, Budi said that in order to restore health development, it was necessary to use the capacity of the state through the pentahelixconcept.

With this concept, namely collaboration between academia, government, industry or business actors, the community/community, and the media, it is hoped that the Sustainable Development Goals can be realized to achieve accelerated economic development, food security, and welfare. “The Ministry of Health has attempted to transform the health system that focuses on six main pillars, namely the transformation of primary services, the transformation of referral services, the transformation of the health resilience system, the transformation of health financing, the transformation of health human resources, and the transformation of health technology,” said Budi.

In the presentation of Prof. Teuku Faisal Fathani, he conveyed the theme of this national seminar in line with breakthroughs and strategic policies at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This is related to the policy of the Ministry of Education and Culture in supporting the independence of the nation’s health, namely the Merdeka Campus Merah Putih Innovation.

“The Tri Dharma of higher education is actually three pillars that become one. So, it is best for an educator to formulate an innovative, collaborative, and contextual research roadmap in which it involves a learning education process which in the end is encouraged as much as possible to be utilized by the wider community, “said Prof. Faisal.

He continued, the key word of all breakthroughs from the Ministry of Education and Technology is to prepare superior and intact human resources. “This is very interesting, the Director of RSUI has said that one of the goals of establishing this RSUI is to become an educational location for prospective health workers, Indonesian health experts in the future.”

In addition to celebrating the 3rd anniversary, this national seminar organized by RSUI aims to improve health literacy and contribute to realizing the nation’s health, the synergy of the health sector and the education sector through health services provided by the State University Hospital. Another goal is to share sessions on the implementation of hospital management and to increase the participation of all parties in promotive efforts towards mutual care and support towards Indonesia recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
