Universitas Indonesia (UI) Rector Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. inaugurated six new deans on Friday, December 11, 2021. Those inaugurated are the deans of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., Faculty of Public Health, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, MS., DSc., Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Ir. Petrus Mursanto, M.Sc., Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., Faculty of Nursing , Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N., and Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. H. Ari Fahrial Syam. The inauguration was carried out in hybrid, namely offline in their respective faculties and in the rooms of UI leaders.
The six deans have gone through a series of selection processes, starting from the faculty level to the assessment process at the university level. Prior to the assessment process, an opportunity was also opened to provide public intake of the dean candidates.
The inauguration of Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D as the Dean of FEB (Faculty of Economics and Business) based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2262/SK/R/UI/2021, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, MS., DSc. As the Dean of FKM based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2263/SK/R/UI/2021, Dr. Ir. Petrus Mursanto, M.Sc as Dean of Fasilkom based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2264/SK/R/R/UI/2021, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. as Dean of FMNS (Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Sciences) based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2265/SK/R/UI/2021, Agus Setiawan, S.Kp., M.N., D.N as Dean of Faculty of Public Health based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2266/SK/R/UI/2021, and Prof. Dr. dr. H. Ari Fahrial Syam as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine based on the Decree of the Rector of UI Number 2267/SK/R/UI/2021.
In his speech at the inauguration, Prof. Ari Kuncoro said that the presence of the deans of these faculties is expected to provide a new spirit for UI which is transforming into an entrepreneurial university era. The world is changing so fast that it requires an extra-fast adaptation process, information technology is increasingly dominating every element of life, and the campus situation is increasingly dynamic, requiring hard work and smart work from university leaders. The journey into this new phase for UI is certainly not an easy matter compared to the traditional university/conservative university era.
“The solution to the changes around us must be able to be overcome with the ability to read the situation and be adaptive to the turmoil of change. I’m sure, if we all have the same and belief in bringing UI to a better direction, then that hope is not just a dream. The role of the dean in leading the faculty is highly expected, so that UI as our big ship will arrive at its destination, “said Prof. Ari.
The newly appointed dean will serve for 4 years. Previously, one of the elected Deans, Prof. Dr. Yoki Yulizar, M.Sc, resigned due to health reasons and was replaced by Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. The inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, Council of Professors, Academic Senate, Vice Chancellors and University Secretaries, Deans, School Directors, and Vocational Directors of UI.
