The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Indonesia received a courtesy visit from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia. The arrival of the Chancellor of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Prof. Dr. Abdol Samad Nawi, and his staff was welcomed by the Dean of FEB UI, Teguh Dartanto, Ph.D., along with leaders of related fields.

The main agenda of this meeting is to share the best experiences in educational transformation through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), Micro-credential Programs, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This meeting also aims to discuss the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Future Collaboration between the two universities. UI and UiTM agreed to strengthen cross-institutional cooperation to improve the quality of education and research in economics and business.

In his welcoming speech, Teguh emphasized FEB UI’s commitment to supporting the transformation of higher education. We are committed to encouraging the academic community, especially lecturers, to transform how they deliver learning content through interactive digital technology. “The collaboration between UI and UiTM is a positive effort to share ideas and experiences to design joint innovations to improve higher education standards,” said Teguh.

Integrating technology into learning is the key to ensuring that the quality of education remains relevant and responsive to current developments. Digitalization in the provision of education is increasingly developing because it is able to prepare students to face the increasingly complex demands of the world of work. The practice of digitizing education is reflected in the Open Access movement through MOOCs or online lectures.

According to the Center For Education and Learning in Economics and Business FEB UI member Ledi Trialdi, S.E., M.P.P., MOOCs are educational tools that utilize advanced technology to enable the involvement of large numbers of participants. Ledi said since September 2021, the Center for Education and Learning in Economics and Business or CELEB FEB UI has provided 59 MOOC videos, both credit and non-credit.

Chancellor of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Prof. Dr. Abdol Samad Nawi, welcomed this collaboration positively. He said we hope this collaboration will continue so it can have a significant impact on the development of education and research. This collaboration will benefit UI and UiTM, society, and the wider community.
