Universitas Indonesia held a Graduation Ceremony for the 2023/2024 Academic Year (Friday-Saturday, March 1-2) at Balairung, UI Depok Campus. The total number of graduates from Vocational to Doctoral education programs is 4,507. UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., in his speech, said that there were 13 Diploma program graduates, 1,732 undergraduate program graduates, 200 international class program graduates, and 87 extension graduates.

Some of the best graduates are Ghefira Nur Imami, Grace Natalia Sari, and Valerie Josephine Dirjayanto from the Faculty of Medicine; Muhammad Rafif Zarrar Sena, Marius Marcello Utomo Koerniadi, and Farah Andriani Zahra from the Faculty of Dentistry; Ershanda Nadhira Syifarini from the Faculty of Nursing; Desthiani Nabilah from the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Andrizqa from the Faculty of Public Health. Meanwhile, the best graduates from the science and technology include Yaseen Fajrie Yudha Ghozali from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; Afiya Maritza and Annan Mikail Ramadhan Atmawidjaja from the Faculty of Engineering; and Melati Eka Putri and Avatar First Son Azka from the Faculty of Computer Science.

Meanwhile, the best graduates from the social sciences and humanities group are Larasati Putri and Defanna Diandri Valeska from the Faculty of Law; Wina Anindya Putri and Ahtia Anharani Sazwara from the Faculty of Economics and Business; Gusti Agung Ayu Tehilla Putri Cahyadi from the Faculty of Humanities; Adelyn Alvincia and Yuga Kalani Rizal from the Faculty of Psychology; Nicole Accalia Angriawan and Erina Lagman from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences; Jeremy Paulus Wijaya from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and the Vocational Education Program, Hejira Ikmas Warih Arwani.

When delivering his speech, Prof. Ari said that in 2023, UI has recorded various achievements both in the academic and non-academic fields. The QS World University Ranking places UI in 237th place in the world, from its previous position of 290th. From the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2023, UI is placed first in the country, number 5 in Asia, or 20th in the world. UI continues to strive to establish itself as an advocate who contributes to answering national and global problems and challenges, said Prof. Ari.

He also said that UI continues to strive to provide a healthy campus environment, which is implemented in programs and policies that support nature conservation, such as water conservation, forest conservation, energy savings, and carbon emissions reduction. Prof. Ari invited the graduates to continue implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and work to produce innovations to tackle global and national problems.

After the Chancellor’s speech, Arrizqy Nadya Khairunnisa Yulianto, a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences representing her colleagues, delivered a speech. “In line with the spirit promoted at the 74th Anniversary of UI, Continuing to Build a Sustainable Indonesia is the right moment to remind that educational institutions have an important role in voicing and responding to sustainability issues,” said Nadya.

A symbolic handover of the Universitas Indonesia’s Endowment Fund Collection Program was carried out during the event. This fund is a contribution from graduates as new alumni to UI worth IDR 1,467,700,000. It was obtained through the allowance for graduation fees paid by each graduate. Later, these funds will be used for UI alma mater, including providing scholarships for UI students in need.

The Governor of Southeast Sulawesi and the Commissioner General of Police attended the event. (F) Dr. (H.C) Andap Budhi Revianto, S.I.K., M.H., is the guardian of his child, Nabila Farahani, a graduate of Faculty of Dentistry UI. Nabila was able to achieve summa cum laude at the Faculty of Dentistry, said Komjen Pol. (F) Dr. (H.C) Andap.

During the graduation ceremony, a musical performance was sung by Shaniya, one of the Faculty of Engineering UI graduates. During the performance, there was excitement among the graduates. They showed promotional words through their gadgets. The camera highlighted some of them.
