Universitas Indonesia (UI) became the host of an international conference, ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) at Balai Sidang UI, Depok, Jawa Barat on Monday and Tuesday, March 28th-29th 2016.
AUN Executive Director, Nantana Gajaseni, in her speech hoped that this international conference could be an exchange forum of information and knowledge related to higher education quality assurance.
The main purpose of this event was as an information exchange event between universities of AUN members so that AUN-QA assessment variable standard could be evaluated.
In order to discuss it, the agenda of this event was not only filled with conference activity, but also internal meetings that is attended by reviewers and AUN members.
AUN is an ASEAN universities networking organization that the main objective is to strengthen and expand cooperation on higher education in ASEAN.
Indonesia has 4 universities that became AUN member and got AUN-QA assessment annually, they are UI, UGM, ITB, and UNAIR.
AUN Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) is one of the activity that is done by AUN which is the main purpose is to do study program quality assurance of AUN members.
This is one form of AUN quality monitoring that always try to assess systematically, sturctured, and continously for its university members.
AUN-QA is an assessment, not an accreditation. Accreditation it self is part of QA. The assessment is an self assessment that is done by writing SAR (Self-Assesment Report).
The process is followed by document check and determining Action For Improvement based on SAR result.
After that, reviewer team from the other AUN member will do the visitation process to give suggestion of self assessment that has been done.
UI as one the AUN member has done AUN-QA in its several study program such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Chemical study program.
